Each cartridge case shall be free from cracks, splits, seams, deep scratches, burrs (those which may interfere with assembly or prove injurious to perso
13、nnel handling the item) of foreign matter which may impair proper functioning. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS . 4.1 Responsibility for inspection and standard quality assur- ance provisions. Unless otherwise specified herein or in the contract, the provisions of MIL-A-48078 shall apply and are here
14、by t made a part of this detail specification. 4.2 Classification of inspections. The following types of I inspection shall be conducted on this item: a. . First article inspection. .4.3 b. Quality conformance inspection. First article inspection. 4.3.1 Submission. The contractor shall submit a firs
15、t article sample as designated by the Contracting Officer for evaluation in accordance with provisions of 4.3.2. The first article sample shall consist of 30 Cases, Cartridge, Blank, 75MM, M9AlB1. Four cases of the 30 shall be used for protective finish tests after completion of Mechanical/Visual in
16、spections. specified herein. 4.3.2 Inspections to be performed. See MIL-A-48078 and Table I 4.3.3 Rejection. See MIL-A-48078. b 4.4 Quality conformance inspection. 4.4.1 inspection lot formation. Inspection lots shall comply with the lot formation provisions of MIL-A-48078. 4.4.2 Examination. See MI

22、4.4.3 Testing. Testing is described in the First Article and Quality Conformance Inspection Table. 4.4.3.1 Maximum profile. Each cartridge case shall be gaged in a contractor certified maximum profile gage. Failure of any cartridge case to freely enter the gage in such manner as to permit the slide
23、to close without interference shall be cause for rejection of the cartridge case. 4.4.-3.2 Protective finish. 4.4.3.2.1 Salt spray. Four cartridge cases from the initial production sample and four cartridge cases from each production lot shall be subjected to this test to determine compliance with 3
24、.4. Failure of one or more cartridge cases to comply shall be cause or rejection of the initial production sample or production lot. 4.4.4 Inspection equipment. The contractor shall submit for approval inspection equiment designs in accordance with the terms of the contract. See Section 6 of MIL-A-4
25、8078 and Paragraph 6.3 herein. 4.5 Test methods and procedures. 4,S.l Salt spray. Procedures and equipment used in performing this test shall be as perscribed in Federal Test Method Standard No. 151. 5. PACKAGING 5.1 Packaging requirements. Packaging shall be as specified on Dwg. 7548320. 6. NOTES 6
