BEFORE FIRING THE LASER, OPERATOR SHOU

2、LD TAKE ADEQUATE PRECAUTIONS TO ASSURE MAXIMM SAFETY. The specification is approved for use by all Departments and Agencies of the Department of Defense. 1. SCOPE 1.1 This specification covers one type of adapter w/e for using the Laser Trainer M55 (F11741700) for f.ield artillery direct fire traini

3、ng. (see 6.1 for intended use). 2. Requirements 3.1 Fabrication.- The unit shall be manufactured in accordance with Drawing A11746409 and all drawings pertaining thereto. 3.2 General specification.- The artillery trainer shall meet the following requirements, where applic

11、bility.- The artillery trainer shall meet al1,the requirements of this specification without need for selective assemblies for any item. all components shall be interchangeable, No incompatibility shall exist between the replacement item and the mechanical interface/fits, or electrical and optical f

13、uations Between Failure (MABF) of 30,000 exclusive of the laser gun (M55). 3.5 Environmental requirements. 3.5.1 Operational conditions.- The artillery trainer shall show no evidence of damage or deterioration and shall meet all requirements of 3.6 under the following environmental conditions. items

There shall be no evidence of water inside the deflector assembly . 3.6 Operational performance. 3.6. i. Mechanical and electrical interface. - The mount assemb

22、ly shali be as specified on Drawing F11747147. The conductivity between the mount and the- laser trainer mounting ring shall be such that- the DC resistance shall not exceed .O1 OHM. 3.6.2 Power input control.- The position of the artillery trainer selection switch shall indicate the “Boresight“, “O

23、FF“ or “Firing“ function of the trainer. . 3.6.2.1 Boresight mode.- When the M55 Trainer.mode switch is in the continuous position and the Artillery trainer.selection switch is in the boresight position, the M55 Trainer shall emit laser light continously. 3.6.2.2 Firing mode,- When the Ms5 Trainer m

24、ode switch is in the flash position and the artillery trainer selection switch is in the firing position, activation of the lanyard switch shall cause the M55 Trainer to emit laser light. unless the lanyard switch is reactivated. There shall be no further light emission 3.6.3 Deflection movement, 3.

25、6.3.1 Excursion range.- Boresight movement shall provide a minimum of 50 mils movement in each direction of both elevation and azimuth. 3.6.3.2 Beam accuracies: 3.6.3.2.1 Depression.- With the deflector level vial reading level and the laser beam originally horizontal, rotation of the elevation knob

26、 by 50 mils in depression shall cause the laser beam to depress 50 mils within - + 2 mil. 3.6.3.2.2 Plumb travel.- With the deflector level vial reading level and the laser beam originally horizontal, rotation of the elevation knob by 50 mils in depression shall not cause the laser beam to move in a

27、zimuth by more than 2 mils from the position established at zero elevation. 3.6.3.2.3 Azimuth.- With the deflector level vial reading level and laser beam horizontal, rotation of the azimuth knob by 40 mils in azimuth, in both directions, shall cause the laser beam to move correspondingly by 40 mils

29、nob by 40 mils in azimuth, in both directions, shall not cause the laser beam to move in elevation or depression by more than 2 mils from the position established at zero azimuth-. 3.6.3.3 Backlash,- The boresight movements in azimuth and elevation shall be capable of meeting this requirement over t

30、he full limit of travel in each direction. 32、 The frame assembly (retroflective targets) shall meet all requirements listed on Drawings C11746509 and F11746502. 3.10 D-eflection tables.- The deflection tables shall meet all the requirements listed on Drawings 11747153, 11747154, 11747155 and 11745156. 3.11 Mount assembly.- The mount assembly s

33、hall meet all the require- ments listed on Drawings Dl1747146 and F11747147. 3,12 Multi-purpose carrying case.- The multi-purpose case shall meet all the requirements listed on Drawing F11747158. 3.13 Distribution box.- The distribution box shallmeet all the requirements listed on Drawing F11746450.

QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection.- Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the perfor- mance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as other- wise specified, the supplier may utilize his own f

35、acilities or any other facilities suitable for the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth inthe specification where such inspection are deemed necessary to assure

36、 supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 General provisions.- The component and subassembly inspection Definitions of inspection terms shall be as listed requirements of MIL-F-13926 form a part of the Quality Assurance Provisions of this specification. in MIL-STD-109. 5 Provi

38、ticle testing shall be as specified in the contract. The sample for first article approval tests shall consist of three Artillery trainers and three each of all items covered by SQAP. be manufactured fn the same manner, using the same materials, equipment, processes, and procedures as used in regula

41、When the Government is responsible for conducting first article approval tests, the contractor, prior to submitting the sample to the Government, shall inspect the sample to insure that it conforms to all the requirements of the contract and submit a record of this inspection with the sample, includ

42、ing certificates of conformance for materials. 4.2.2 Contractor testin Direct Fire (Laser) The level of protection shall be as specified in the contract. 6. Notes. 6.1 Intended use.- The artillery trainer is an adaptation of the M55 Laser Tank Gunnery Trainer for direct fire training of artillery ho

43、witzer sections. (105-MM Howitzer Ml02 Towed, 105PM Howitzer bl01- series towed, 155MM Howitzer M14Al Towed, 155MM Howitzer M109A1 self- propelled, 105MM Howitzer XM204 Towed, 155MM Howitzer XM198 Towed). The trainer will provide year-around training of section personnel in standard direct fi-re tec

44、hniques while engaging both stationary and moving targets on a scale range. The trainer will allow realistic firing exercises to be conducted in garrison, without having to move howitzers to a iive firing range and without: expending either sub caliber or service ammunition. 6.2 Ordering Data.- Proc

45、urement documents should specify the following : a. Title, number and date of specification b. Applicable packing data.sheet (See 5.1) c. Selection of applicable levels of preservation, packaging d. Applicable stock number. e.
