1、Designation: A 502 03Standard Specification forRivets, Steel, Structural1This standard is issued under the fixed designation A 502; the number immediately following the designation indicates the year oforiginal adoption or, in the case of revision, the year of last revision. A number in parentheses

2、indicates the year of last reapproval. Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval.1. Scope1.1 This specification covers three grades of steel rivets indiameters from12 to 112 in. inclusive, for structural fabricatingpurposes. The grades are as follow

Chemical Composition5.1 Grade 1 and Grade 2 rivets shall conform to the heatanalysis requirements given in Table 1.5

9、.2 Grade 3 rivets shall be weathering steel and shallconform to Class A or Class B chemical composition specifiedin Table 1. The selection of the composition, A or B, shall beat the option of the rivet manufacturer. See Guide G 101 formethods of estimating the atmospheric corrosion resistance oflow

Additionaltests of individual shipments of material are not ordinarilycontemplated. Individual heats of steel are not necessarilyidentified in the finished product.8.1.2 Addi

17、tional hardness tests of individual shipments ofrivets are not ordinarily required.
