Terminology3.1 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.1.1 weaving wire, nterm weaving wire as used in thisspecification shall be understood to cover round wire intendedespecially for weaving.4. Materials and Manufacture5.1 The last heat treatment shall be a solution-annealingheat treatment.NOTE 3The recommended annealing temperatures are 1900 to 2100F(1038 to 1149C) for UNS N08020 and
11、2050 to 2200F (1121 to 1204C)for UNS N08026 and UNS N08024, all followed by quenching in wateror rapidly cooling by other means.5.2 Wire shall be annealed or cold drawn as a final operationto produce the specified mechanical properties.6. Chemical Composition6.1 The material shall conform to the req
12、uirements as tochemical composition prescribed in Table 1.6.2 If a product (check) analysis is performed by thepurchaser, the material shall conform to the product (check)analysis variations prescribed in Specification B880.1This specification is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee B02 onNonfer

Dimensions and Permissible Variations8.1 The diameter of the wire shall not vary from thatspecified by more t
16、han the permissible variations prescribed inTable 3.9. Workmanship, Finish, and Appearance9.1 The wire shall be uniform in diameter and free ofinjurious seams, laps, pits, die marks, or defects tending toimpair the use of the wire.9.2 The wire shall be supplied as annealed or cold-drawnhaving a fini
17、sh as pickled, bright-annealed, or cold-drawn.10. Sampling10.1 Lot:10.1.1 A lot for chemical analysis shall consist of one heat.10.1.2 A lot for mechanical properties shall consist of thesame gage of each heat in each heat treatment charge.10.2 Test Material Selection:10.2.1 Chemical AnalysisReprese

Certification16.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, amanufacturers certification shall be furnished to the purchaserstating that material has been manufactured, tested, and in-spected in accordance with this specification, and that the test
30、results on representative samples meet specification require-ments. When specified in the purchase order or contract, areport of the test results shall be furnished.17. Product Marking17.1 The size of the wire, ASTM specification number,grade or UNS number, heat number, and name or trademark ofthe m
31、anufacturer shall be marked on a tag securely attached toeach coil or spool.18. Packaging and Package Marking18.1 Each coil or spool shall be one continuous length ofwire, properly coiled or spooled, and firmly tied. Unlessotherwise specified, coils shall be placed in drums or shall bepaper-wrapped,
32、 and spools shall be packaged in such a manneras to assure safe delivery to their destination when properlytransported by any common carrier.19.
