Scope1.1 This specification covers drift e

Terminology3.1 DefinitionsThe definitions covered in TerminologyD 2946 are applicable to this specification.3.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:3.2.1 autoclaved productsthose that have been treated in asaturated steam atmosphere at between 689 and

20、 conform to Specification C 221.4.2.2 Class BLouver materials consisting of flat sheetsthat meet requirements in Specifications C 220 or C 223.4.3 Casing Panels:4.3.1 Class ACasing panels intended for demanding ap-plications. In addition to compliance with Specifications C 220for flat panels or C 22

21、1 for corrugated panels, Type I casingpanels must be made from Type V cement as defined inSpecification C 150 and must have a minimum apparentdensity of 1.6 g/cm3(100 lb/ft3).4.3.2 Class BCasing panels intended for less demandingservice need only comply with Specification C 220 for flatpanels or Spe

22、cification C 221 for corrugated panels.4.4 Asbestos-Cement Pressure Pipes:4.4.1 Classes 100, 150, and 200 shall conform with Speci-fication C 296.4.5 Asbestos-Cement Nonpressure or Gravity DrainagePipes:4.5.1 Asbestos-cement nonpressure or gravity drainagepipes, Classes 1500, 2400, 3300, 4000, and 5

23、000 must conformwith Specification C 428.4.6 Cooling Tower Fill:4.6.1 Flat sheet fill (heat transfer panels).4.6.1.1 Classes A, B, and C shall conform with Specifica-tions C 1081 and 1082.4.6.2 Corrugated Sheet Fill (heat transfer panels)Class Amust conform with Specifications C 1081.4.6.3 Splash Ba

Test Methods5.1 Apparent DensityThis is determined by dividing themass of a specimen after drying to constant weight at 100 65C (225 6 10F), by the volume of the specimen.5.2 Water AbsorptionIn accordance with Test MethodsC 459.5.

25、3 Flexural Strength and Modulus of RuptureIn accor-dance with Test Methods C 459.5.4 Freeze-Thaw Resistance:5.4.1 The number of freeze-thaw cycles specified must notcause any apparent deterioration. Check for signs of delami-nation by means of a magnifying glass. Inspect the specimensfor the presenc

26、e of invisible cracks by spraying isopropylalcohol from a hand spray bottle onto the specimen (hairlinecracks are revealed when the alcohol evaporates from thesurface).5.4.2 Each cycle shall consist of saturating the specimen bysubmerging in water at 30 6 2C (86 6 3F) during 2 6 0.2h followed by rap

27、id drainage and freezing at 20 6 2C (4 63F) during 10 6 0.2 h. The twice-daily cycle then repeatsstarting with the 2 h period of thawing and saturation in waterat 30C.5.5 Harkort Test:5.5.1 The specimen is dried in an oven at 100 6 2C (2126 3F) for 2 6 0.2 h before rapidly immersing it in 10 6 0.1kg

28、 (20 6 0.2 lb) of water at 20 6 2C (68 6 3F) for 10 6 0.2min. Then the specimen is examined for signs of deterioration.Check and inspect as in 5.4.1. If the specimen does not appeardeteriorated, it is returned to the oven for drying during 24 60.2hat1106 2C (230 6 3F) before reimmersing in thesame w

29、ay.5.5.2 Subsequent drying periods at successively highertemperatures are each of 23 h 45 min at oven temperaturesspecified as follows:3rd drying 120 6 2C (258 6 3F)4th drying 130 6 2C (266 6 3F)5th drying 140 6 2C (284 6 3F)6th drying 150 6 2C (302 6 3F)7th drying 160 6 2C (320 6 3F)5.5.3 The numbe

30、r of cycles sustained without deteriorationis reported.5.6 Additional details are presented in Specifications C 220,C 221, C 296, C 1081, and C 1082, Test Method C 458 andTest Methods C 459.6. Inspection6.1 Inspection of the material shall be agreed upon betweenthe purchaser and the supplier as part

31、 of the purchase contract.7. Rejection and Rehearing7.1 Material that fails to conform to the requirements of thisspecification may be rejected. Rejection shall be reported to theproducer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the results of the tests, the producer orsup

Certification8.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, aproducers or suppliers certification shall be furnished to thepurchaser that the material was manufactured, sampled, testedand inspected in accordance with this specificatio

33、n and hasbeen found to meet the requirements. When specified in thepurchase order or contract a report of the test results shall befurnished.8.2 Upon request of the purchaser in the contract or order,the certification of an independent third party indicatingconformance to the requirements of this sp

34、ecification may beaccepted instead of the manufacturers certification.9. Product Marking9.1 For all but the lowest classes of products it is necessaryto print on each piece, in alkali resistant ink, the identificationof the class or type which is to be furnished.10.
