Test Methods5.1 Apparent DensityThis is determined by dividing themass of a specimen after drying to constant weight at 100 65C (225 6 10F), by the volume of the specimen.5.2 Water AbsorptionIn accordance with Test MethodsC 459.5.
25、3 Flexural Strength and Modulus of RuptureIn accor-dance with Test Methods C 459.5.4 Freeze-Thaw Resistance:5.4.1 The number of freeze-thaw cycles specified must notcause any apparent deterioration. Check for signs of delami-nation by means of a magnifying glass. Inspect the specimensfor the presenc
26、e of invisible cracks by spraying isopropylalcohol from a hand spray bottle onto the specimen (hairlinecracks are revealed when the alcohol evaporates from thesurface).5.4.2 Each cycle shall consist of saturating the specimen bysubmerging in water at 30 6 2C (86 6 3F) during 2 6 0.2h followed by rap
27、id drainage and freezing at 20 6 2C (4 63F) during 10 6 0.2 h. The twice-daily cycle then repeatsstarting with the 2 h period of thawing and saturation in waterat 30C.5.5 Harkort Test:5.5.1 The specimen is dried in an oven at 100 6 2C (2126 3F) for 2 6 0.2 h before rapidly immersing it in 10 6 0.1kg
28、 (20 6 0.2 lb) of water at 20 6 2C (68 6 3F) for 10 6 0.2min. Then the specimen is examined for signs of deterioration.Check and inspect as in 5.4.1. Inspection6.1 Inspection of the material shall be agreed upon betweenthe purchaser and the supplier as part
31、 of the purchase contract.7. Rejection and Rehearing7.1 Material that fails to conform to the requirements of thisspecification may be rejected. Rejection shall be reported to theproducer or supplier promptly and in writing. In case ofdissatisfaction with the results of the tests, the producer orsup

Certification8.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, aproducers or suppliers certification shall be furnished to thepurchaser that the material was manufactured, sampled, testedand inspected in accordance with this specificatio

When specified in thepurchase order or contract a report of the test results shall befurnished.8.2 Upon request of the purchaser in the contract or order,the certification of an independent third party indicatingconformance to the requirements of this sp

Product Marking9.1 For all but the lowest classes of products it is necessaryto print on each piece, in alkali resistant ink, the identificationof the class or type which is to be furnished.10.
