Scope*1.1 This specification covers diacetone alcohol.21.2 The following applies to all specified limits in thisstandard; for purposes of determining conformance with this

Sampling4.1 The material shall be sampled in accordance withPractice E 300.5. Test Methods5.1 The properties enumerated in this specification shall bedetermined in ac

17、cordance with the following ASTM testmethods:5.1.1 Apparent Specific GravityDetermine the apparentspecific gravity by any convenient method that is accurate tothe third decimal place, the temperature of both specimen andwater being 20 or 25C. (See Guide D 268 and Test MethodD 4052.)5.1.2 ColorTest M

18、ethod D 1209.NOTE 4Diacetone alcohol has a tendency to develop yellow color thatis hastened by contact with iron or rust during storage. Protection fromiron is obtained with a zinc silicate liner.5.1.3 Distillation RangeTest Method D 1078, using atemperature measuring device having a range of 123 to

19、 177Cand a resolution of 0.1C.NOTE 5In order to avoid an erratic value for the initial boiling pointthe distillation flask should be clean and free of any residual carbondeposit. This exception to the suggestion in Note 3 of Test Method D 1078is specifically applicable to diacetone alcohol. Particul
