Ordering Information4.1 When tubings are ordered to this specification, thepurchaser should define the size and color of the requiredtubing.5. Materials and Manufacture5.1 The compound used in the manufacture of heat-shrinkable tu
9、bing shall be modified poly(vinylidene fluoride),and the finished compound shall be free of all foreign matterother than intended formulation additives as appropriate.5.2 The tubing shall be extruded, crosslinked, and thenexpanded to the required dimensions.6. Chemical Property Requirements6.1 The m
10、aterial shall conform to the chemical propertyrequirements specified in Table 1.6.2 Every lot of material manufactured shall be tested forflammability (when applicable). Other chemical requirementsmay be tested less frequently or at a frequency agreed uponbetween the purchaser and the seller.1This s

Physical Property Requirements7.1 The material shall conform to the mechanical, thermal,and electrical requirements of Table 2.7.2 Every lot of material manu
15、factured shall be tested forrestricted shrinkage, heat shock, tensile strength, and elonga-tion. Other physical requirements may be tested less frequentlyor at a frequency agreed upon between the purchaser and seller.8. Dimensional Requirements8.1 The material shall conform to the dimensional requir
16、e-ments of Table 3.8.2 Tubing with non-standard dimensions may be suppliedwhen agreed upon between purchaser and seller. Tubing withnon-standard dimensions shall be considered to comply withthis specification if the requirements of Table 1 and Table 2 aresatisfied and the minimum recovered wall thic
17、kness equals orexceeds that of the identical or next largest nominal size. Thewall for sizes greater than 1 in. shall be at least as thick as thatof the 1 in. size.9. Workmanship9.1 The tubing shall be homogeneous and essentially free offlaws, defects, pinholes, bubbles, seams, cracks, or inclusions
18、.9.2 Clear tubing shall be transparent to translucent light tanor in a color as agreed between purchaser and seller.10. Sampling10.1 A lot shall consist of all material which is processed atthe same time and under the same conditions and submitted forinspection at one time.10.2 Properties may be tes
19、ted at any stage in processingwhen they are unaffected by subsequent processing.10.3 Select a quantity of the product at random from eachlot in accordance with Practice D 3636 and Table 5.10.4 Statistical process control measurements may be usedto demonstrate conformance in lieu of the sampling plan
20、 notedherein when the demonstrated process capability is greater thanthe specified AQL.11. Number of Tests and Retests11.1 The methods of test define the number of specimensand length required for each test.11.2 If the results of any test, except for attributes listed inTable 3, do not conform to th
21、e requirements prescribed in thisspecification, perform two additional tests on different speci-mens from the same lot. Nonconformance to Table 3 require-ments on first inspection shall be cause for rejection.11.3 If either of the two additional tests result in noncon-formance, the lot of material m
22、ay be rejected at the option ofthe purchaser. Notice of nonconformances observed by thepurchaser based on tests made according to this specificationshall be reported to the manufacturer within 60 days fromreceipt of the material.11.4 Tubing that has been rejected may be replaced orreworked to correc
23、t the nonconformances and resubmitted forinspection. Before resubmitting, full particulars concerningprevious rejection and action taken to correct the nonconfor-mances shall be furnished to the inspector.12. Test Methods12.1 Use the test methods described in Test MethodsD 2671 unless stated otherwi
24、se in Table 1 or Table 2.12.2 Use a time of 3 min and a temperature of 200 6 2C392 6 4 F to recover (shrink) tubings in this specification.13. Inspection13.1 The manufacturer or purchaser or both shall haveavailable all the facilities to enable the complete testing to thisspecification.14. Certifica
25、tion14.1 When specified in the purchase order or contract, themanufacturers or suppliers certification shall be furnished tothe purchaser stating that samples representing each lot havebeen manufactured, tested, and inspected in accordance withthis specification and the requirements have been met.
