Asuperscript epsilon (e) indicates an editorial change since the last revision or reapproval. This standard has been approved for use by agencies of the Department of Defense.1. Scope1.1 This specification

3、covers mercury-in-glass, reusablemaximum self-registering clinical thermometers of the typescommonly used for measuring body temperatures of humansand of animals. Requirements are given for bulb and stemglasses, mercury, legibility and permanency of markings, dimensions, temperature scale ranges, and

4、 graduations, as wellas for thermometer stability, ease of resetting, retention oftemperature indication, and for accuracy of scale reading.Appropriate methods of testing to determine compliance areprovided.
