3、covers the requirements for commer-cial wrought nonferrous bolts, hex cap screws, and studs 0.250to 1.500 in. and socket head cap screws (including socket headcap, button head and flat countersunk head configurations) withnominal thread 0.06 (size 0) through 1.500 in. inclusive indiameter manufactur

Ordering Information3.1 Orders for fasteners under this specification shall in-clude the following information:3.1.1 Quantity (number of pieces of each item and size),3.1.2 Name of item. Materials and Manufacture4.1 Materials:4.1.1 The bolts, cap screws, socket h

23、ead cap screws andstuds shall be manufactured from material having a chemicalcomposition conforming to the requirements in Table 1, exceptas provided in Supplementary Requirement S5, and capable ofdeveloping the required mechanical properties for the specifiedalloy in the finished fastener. See Spec

24、ification B574 for nickelalloys.4.1.2 The starting condition of the raw material shall be atthe discretion of the fastener manufacturer except as providedin Supplementary Requirement S5, but shall be such that thefinished products conform to all of the specified requirements.4.2 Manufacture:4.2.1 Fo

25、rmingUnless otherwise specified, the fastenersshall be cold formed, hot formed, or machined from suitablematerial, at the option of the manufacturer.4.2.2 ConditionExcept as provided in 4.2.3 and Supple-mentary Requirement S5, the fasteners shall be furnished in thefollowing conditions:Alloy Conditi

28、er.4.2.4.1 Bolts, cap screws and studs shall be rolled or cut atthe option of the manufacturer.4.2.4.2 Socket head cap screws and flat countersunk headcap screws in sizes up to 1.00 in. inclusive and product lengthsup to 6.00 in. inclusive shall have threads formed by rolling,except by special arran

29、gement with the purchaser. Largerproducts may be rolled or cut at the option of the manufacturer.4.2.4.3 Button head cap screws shall have threads formedby rolling.5. Chemical Composition5.1 Chemical CompositionThe fasteners shall conform tothe requirements as to chemical composition prescribed inTa

30、ble 1 for the specified alloy, except as provided in Supple-mentary Requirement S5 when specified by the purchaser.5.2 Product Analysis:5.2.1 Product analyses may be made by the purchaser fromfinished products representing each lot.
