7、squareness ofresilient floor plank is an important consideration becauseinstalled flooring may exhibit an objectionable appearancewhen either or both characteristics deviate from establishedtolerances. This test method provides a means of determiningactual dimensional and squareness by using a singl
8、e apparatusand procedure.5. Apparatus5.1 The apparatus4shall consist of five dial gages and tworeference index strips mounted on a flat bedplate in a configu-ration that, by rotation and flipping of the sample, allows themeasurement of all four sides of resilient plank samples. (SeeFig. 1). One edge
9、 of the bedplate is elevated to create a testsurface, which is offset or tilted 15+/-1 degrees from horizon-tal. The offset applies minimal pressure to the test specimenagainst the longer index strip to ensure repeatable measure-ment. A reference plate4representing target plank size andsquareness (s
10、ee Fig. 2) is used to zero all dial gages.5.2 Dial GagesThe five dial gages are mounted in guideslots, which are machined into the bedplate to allow formeasurement of various plank sizes.
