TEST LINE DIRECTORY 9 4 1 General The purpose of this document is to provide exchange, interexchange, and international carrier

18、s with guidelines for the deployment of test lines and assignment of test line numbers. Specific local operational procedures should be covered in documentation provided by the Carriers. Availability of test lines, specific procedures, and numbering plans may require individual company documentatio

20、n or negotiation between the companies involved. The test lines and test line numbers contained herein are in accordance with ANSI Standard T1.207. This Standard contains further information and descriptions of test lines. 2 Test Line Access ASCs will be provided access to ASP terminating test lines

21、 in the End Offices and in the Access Tandems. ASPs should be provided with access to ASC terminating test lines. The following test lines, where applicable, should be provided and their access numbers exchanged by the ASCs and ASPs: 100 Type Test Line 101 Type Test Line 102 Type Test Line 103 Type

When testing trunks terminating into end offices with local and tandem capabilities, verification of the proper switch pad must be t

28、aken into account. Testing of switch pad operation may be done in two manners: The ASP will (through manual or software control) operate the switch pad for proper configuration (local/tandem). The ASP will make available the test line numbers for tandem and/or local operation, so the ASC an verify t

29、he proper designed loss of the trunk. When ASP switching machines detect a Machine Detected Interoffice Irregularity (MDII) on ASP-ASC FGD service, test line number access is required for efficient and economical circuit isolation and repair. With the installation of such test access, MDIIs may be t

30、ested from the originating switch location without assistance from the terminating switch location. 3 Lineside (Call-through/Routing Testing/Service Provider Verification) 3.1 Service Provider Verification When it is necessary for an ASP or end user to perform a SP verification, the recommended numb

31、er to call is 700-555-4141 for interLATA pre-subscription validation or (HNPA) 700-4141 for intraLATA toll pre-subscription validation and (101XXXX) 1-700-555-4141 for alternate carrier validation. These calls will verify access to the current service provider and will not result in end-user billing

32、. 3.2 Call-Through/Routing Testing To facilitate call-through tests, the ANI of the line to be used in making the test call may be needed to verify routing, if requested by the ASC. ANI should be provided by the ASP, prior to the call-through test via local agreements. ASC response to a call-through

33、 test should contain the ASC name and should be a “Barge in“ type of announcement. 7 4 Testing Through an Access Tandem Testing from an End Office through an Access Tandem to an ASC may be impossible due to Access Tandem test line number screening. It is recommended that the ASCs provide access to t

34、erminating test lines via the 700 Service Access Code (SAC), where available e.g., (101XXXX) 1-700-958-1102 or (101XXXX) 1-700-959-1020. 5 9YY NXX, NPA/NXX, Toll Free, and International Call-Through Testing 5.1 Testing NPA/NXX or NPA/NXX-X 5.1.1 New NPA/NXX The company opening a new NXX shall establ

35、ish a working test number for call through purposes. The test number shall be established for a minimum period of 180 days. 5.1.2 New NPA/NXX-X in Thousands Block Pooling Situations The above testing rules also apply for a Code Holder opening a NPA/NXX-X block for the first time in a new NPA/NXX. NP

36、A/NXX-X Code reallocations occur after a code has already been opened and established, generally have viable working numbers at the time of reallocation and would not typically require retesting. 5.1.3 NXXs affected by NPA Relief activity The company moving an NXX or NXX-X to another or a new NPA or

37、 rehoming an NXX or NXX-X, shall have a test number established for the purpose of translation and billing validation call through testing. The test number shall be established for a minimum period of 180 days. Where possible the preferred termination for these test numbers shall be a recorded annou

38、ncement that identifies the terminating NPA/NXX or NPA/NXX-X. 5.2 Testing NPA/NXX All telecommunications companies (wireline, cable, IP, wireless etc.) applying to the NANPA administrator and receiving a new NPA/NXX or Thousands block(s) are expected to follow testing procedures as Code Holder. 5.2.

39、1 New NPA/NXX The company opening a new NXX shall establish a working test number for call through purposes. The test number shall be established for a minimum period of 180 days. 8 5.2.2 NXXs Affected by NPA Relief Activity, Switch Change, Switch Homing Arrangements The company moving an NXX to ano

40、ther or a new NPA or rehoming (migrating, transferring or moving) an NXX to a different switch or a switch rehome to a different tandem shall have a test number established for the purpose of translation and billing validation call through testing. The test number shall be established for a minimum

41、period of 180 days. 5.2.3 Migration of NXX code(s) Code migration is transferring a code from one switch to another and/or from one OCN to another and/or one service provider to another and should be a coordinated project. Testing and testing timeframes would be determined by the interconnected proj

42、ect partners and does not need industry testing participation. A test line number should be published in the LERG for any company choosing to participate in testing NXX migration scenarios may include, but are not limited to, the following: Migrating all NXX codes from a switch to another switch/sam

43、e or different tandem Migrating one or more but not all NXX codes from a switch to another switch (OCN of the switch may or may not stay the same) Type 1 to Type 2 wireless code migration (OCN of the switch changes) When the “A” record is moving from one switch to another switch, then the test numbe

44、r and test response field on the NXD screen should be populated with the appropriate test number and test response. 5.2.4 Changing a tandem association with an end office switch For tandem rehome activity the test number shall remain in effect until the tandem rehome has been completed. However, thi

45、s situation should be a coordinated project. Testing and testing timeframes shall be determined by the interconnected project partners and does not need industry testing participation. For new NPA-NXX codes where required trunking is in place at least 20 days prior to the LERG effective date, valida

46、te that all translations work is complete five (5) calendar days prior to the date identified in the LERG as the effective date. Where possible the preferred termination for these test numbers shall be a recorded announcement that identifies the terminating NPA/NXX. For rehome activity, when a recor

47、ded announcement is not possible, the test number may terminate to a milliwatt tone response. 5.3 Testing Toll Free Each Toll Free Service Provider should provide Toll Free test numbers within the reserved range (8NN-250-0000 to 8NN-250-1499). 5.4 Testing International Direct Distance Dialing (IDDD)

48、 When a new IDDD number range is opened, or when new routing is applied to an IDDD number range, testing may be performed by LECs, IXCs, and International Carriers. 9 5.4.1 New IDDD Number Range The International Carrier shall identify working IDDD numbers in the new number range for use in call-thr

49、ough testing. A LEC that chooses to participate in the call-through testing shall check that it does not screen out IDDD calls to numbers in the new number range. An IXC that chooses to participate in the call-through testing shall verify that it appropriately routes IDDD calls to numbers in the new number range. Where possible the preferred termination for IDDD call-through testing via the International Carrier shall be a recorded announcement that identifies the called number. 5.4.2 New IDDD Routing The International Carrier shall identify
