Each variation being inve

Footwear intended for special purposes or activities, e.g.football boots, should be worn only by subjects engaged in such activity during the trial period. 4.6 The footwear should be fitted to the sub

NOTEWhere appropriate, hosiery should be worn both at fitting and during the course of the trial. Where an effect such as colour transfer from the footwear is an im

It is then necessary to examine and assess the staining of the hose after single wear periods using the scoring system of5.2. 4.7 Pairing of footwear should be done according toa), b) or c) below. a) Where the variation(s) being considered allow it, o
20、ne half of each pair should be the new and the other half the control and both should be worn simultaneously by each subject. In order to balance out variation in performance due to an overall left or right foot bias, in half the subjects the control should be on the left foot and in the other half
21、it should be on the right foot.BS5131-6.1:1981 2 BSI 11-1999 b) Where colour, style or other differences in the variation(s) do not allow the procedure in a), one pair of each of the new and the control should be worn consecutively for identical periods and in similar circumstances by each subject.
22、At any one time approximately equal numbers of control and new pairs should be in wear, so as to minimize the possible effect of changes, for example, in weather conditions, during the course of the trial. c) Where a better balancing out of left/right differences is required than is provided by a),
23、a combination of procedures a) and b) should be adopted, i.e.two pairs should be provided for each subject, one new and one control, and consecutive wearing carried out as described in b) but with each pair worn comprising one new shoe and one control as in a). NOTEThis procedure has the effect of b
24、alancing out variation in performance due to left or right foot bias in individual subjects. 4.8 The minimum duration of the trial will be dependent on the comparison being made but should be such that a measurable or observable amount of general wear or deterioration is achieved in the control foot

It is often desirable to continue the trial to the normal life expectancy of the footwear. It is advantageous, but not essential fo

For the subjective assessment procedure outlined in5.2 at least three assessors capable of maki

Necessary replacements should be noted and should not affect the fit or the normal dynamic functio
