24、ntoturnoutcomponents: switches; crossings; check rails. buttheprinciplesapplyequallytomorecomplexlayouts. 2 Normativereferences Notapplicable. 3Presentation 3.1General Themotionofwheelsandtransferofwheelloadsisacomplexsubject,involvingtheaccumulationofextensive dataandanunderstandingofdynamiceffects

25、 Bymakingcertainassumptionsitisfeasibletodefineruleswhicharesimpleyetrigorousenoughfordesignofall typesofswitchesandcrossings.Someoftheserulesassumea2axlebogieorvehicle.Theneedforotherspecial requirementssuchasthoseposedby3axleorothervehiclesmustbestatedbytheCustomer. 3.2 Wheelandtrackdimensions Th

26、isclausedealswiththekeydimensionsneededfortheanalysisoftheinteractionbetweenwheelsandthetrack, eitherforguidancecalculationsorloadtransfercalculations. Wheelandtrackdimensionsaredefinedbelow. 3.3 Wheelprofiles Sufficientdimensionsofthecrosssectionorprofileofawheelarerequiredforswitchandcrossingdesig

27、n.Asa minimum,adimensionedprofiledrawingshallbeprovidedbythecustomer,withthefollowingkeydimensionsas definedinFigure1: flangewidth,heightandflangeangle; tyrewidthandtreadangle; wheeldiameterorradius. IftheCustomerprovideswornwheelprofilesoramountsofwear,thentheseshouldbeused.Otherwisethe assumptionsmadebytheSuppliershallformthebasisfordesign,andtheseshallbestated.Examplesofkey areasofwearare: backofwheelflanges; frontofwheelflanges; false flanges; flange angle. 35、tzone Forswitchandcrossingdesign,thereareissueswhichshallbeverifiedduringdesign.Theseareasfollows. 3.7.1 Contactprofile Therelativeradiiofwheelandrailshallbetakenintoaccount. 3.7.2 Contactdangerzone ThewheelprofilesuppliedbytheCustomershallindicatethedangerzoneforguidancecontact,whichisthatpart ofth

36、ewheelflangewhichfallsontheflangeradiusandwhichthereforeexceedstheangleforsafeguidance.The switchandcrossingSuppliershallensurethatguidancecontactdoesnottakeplacewithinthiszoneforbothnew andwornwheels,exceptwhereitisagreedthatflangerunningisanormaloperatingregime. ThedangerzoneisillustratedinFigure1

37、 3.7.3Flangeway depth Thedepthoftheflangewayshallbesufficienttopreventflangesfromrunningontheflooroftheflangewayexceptif otherwiserequiredbytheCustomer.Thisshallbeverifiedconsideringtheincreaseddepthofflangeofamaximum wornwheelandwiththeshallowflangewayofamaximumwornrunningsurfaceofarail. 4 Guidanc
