20、protectionagainstambientconditionsofwind,waterandcold,butitshouldalsoprovidesomeprotectionfrominjury intheeventofanaccident.Itisintendednottohinderariderfromcontrollinghismachine.Itshouldbeofan acceptableappearancetothewearer. ThisEuropeanStandardisprimarilyconcernedwiththeprotectionprovidedbyclothi
21、ngagainstinjuryinaccidents. Thehazardstowhichmotorcyclistsareexposedvarywidelydependingonthephysicalenvironmentsuchasthe natureoftheroadtrackormountainside,theclimaticenvironment,thetrafficenvironment,thespeedatwhichthe motorcycleisbeingriddenandtheskilloftherider.Thenumberofcombinationsofpossibleha

Totalclothingperformanceagainsteveryidentifiedhazardcouldberequiredforeachcombination.Thiswouldbe impracticablycomplicated.Thereforethisstandardcontainstherequirementsforsinglecharacteristicsofsingle itemsofclothingorsimplecombinationsofgarments.
