This Europea

This document has been prepared under a mandate given to CE

EN 14316-1:2004 (E) 4 1 Scope This document specifies the requirements covering the four product types of expanded perlite products Perlite Aggregate (EPA), Coated Perlite (EPC), Hydrophobic Perlite (EPH) and Premixed P
24、erlite (EPM), containing less than 1 % organic material as defined by annex D for in-situ insulation of roofs, ceilings, walls and floors. This document is a specification for the insulation products before installation. This document describes the product characteristics and includes procedures for
25、 testing, evaluation of conformity, marking and labelling. This document does not specify the required level of a given property to be achieved by a product to demonstrate fitness for purpose in a particular application. The levels required for a given application are to be found in regulations or n
26、on-conflicting standards. This document does not cover factory made insulation products of formed shapes and boards made with expanded perlite or in-situ products intended to be used for the insulation of building equipment and industrial installations. To comply with this document, products shall meet the requirements of 4.2, and the requirements of
43、 4.3 as appropriate. One test result for a product property is the average of the measured values on the number of test specimens given in Table 1. 4.2 For all applications 4.2.1 Thermal resistance and thermal conductivity Thermal resistance and thermal conductivity shall be based upon measurements
44、carried out in accordance with EN 12667. EN 14316-1:2004 (E) 7 The thermal conductivity shall be determined in accordance with Annex A and declared by the manufacturer according to the following: the reference mean temperature shall be 10 C; the measured values shall be expressed with three signific
45、ant figures; the declared thermal values shall be given as limit values representing at least 90 % of the production, determined with a confidence level of 90 %; the declared thermal resistance, R D , shall be calculated from the thickness, d N , and the corresponding declared thermal conductivity v
46、alue, D , where R D= d N / (see NOTE 3); the value of thermal conductivity, 90/90 , shall be rounded upwards to the nearest 0,001 W/(mK) and declared as Din levels with steps of 0,001 W/(mK); the value of the declared thermal resistance, R D , shall be rounded downwards to the nearest 0,05 m 2 K/W,
47、and declared in levels with steps of 0,05 m 2 K/W; An example of the determination of the declared value of thermal conductivity is given in the Annex F. NOTE 1 for expanded perlite is normally in the range 0,03 to 0,06 W/(mK). NOTE 2 A correlation between thermal conductivity and any other property
48、 specific to the manufacturers product can be used for indirect testing. NOTE 3 The declaration of the installed thermal resistance is described in prEN 14316-2. 4.2.2 Loose bulk density Loose bulk density shall be determined in accordance with EN 1097-3. However, the container should be filled using a flat bottomed scoop held centrally over the container without touching it, and be no more than 50 mm above the rim. The value shall be
