7、s British Standard shall be used in conjunction with the relevant sections of the latest issue of BSHC100, as follows: 3 Chemical composition The re-melting stock and the castings shall contain: 4 Condition Castings shall be supplied in the solution treated condition, unless otherwise agreed between
8、 the purchaser and the founder, in which case the condition required shall be stated on the drawing or order. 5 Heat treatment 5.1 General. The heat treatment shall be as given in5.2 or5.3. NOTEIf the procedure given in5.2 is not acceptable to the purchaser and founder they may use the procedure giv
9、en in5.3. Theprocedure to be used should be stated on the drawing or order. 5.2 Heat treatment I 5.2.1 Solution treatment. Solution treatment shall consist of: a) heating uniformly at a temperature between1020 C and1180 C for not less than1h and cooling to a temperature not exceeding25 C; b) holding
10、 at a temperature not exceeding25 C for not less than24h before further treatment. 5.2.2 Precipitation treatment. Precipitation treatment shall consist of heating uniformly at a temperature between450 C and520 C for not more than4h and cooling in air. 5.2.3 Full heat treatment. Full heat treatment s
11、hall consist of solution treatment in accordance with5.2.1, followed by precipitation treatment in accordance with5.2.2. 5.2.4 Homogenization. Homogenization treatment shall consist of: a) heating uniformly at a temperature between1135 C and1165 C for not less than90min and cooling in air to a tempe
12、rature not exceeding25 C; b) holding at a temperature not exceeding25 C for not less than24h before further treatment. Solution treatment shall consist of: a) heating uniformly at a temperature between1025 C and1055 C for1h per2
14、5mm of section or for30min, whichever is the greater, and cooling in air to a temperature not exceeding25 C; b) holding at a temperature not exceeding25 C for not less than24h before further treatment. 5.3.2 Precipitation treatment. Precipitation treatment shall consist of heating uniformly at a tem
15、perature between450 C and520 C for not less than90min and not more than4h, and cooling in air to room temperature. 5.3.3 Full heat treatment. Full heat treatment shall consist of homogenization treatment in accordance with5.2.4, followed by solution treatment in accordance with5.3.1, followed by pre
16、cipitation treatment in accordance with5.3.2. 6 Mechanical properties 6.1 Tensile. The tensile properties obtained from test pieces representing castings, selected, prepared and tested in accordance with the relevant requirements of BSHC100, shall be: NOTEInformation on SI units is given in BS3763 “

The hardness of castings fully heat treated in accordance with5.3 and of their representative test samples shall be not less than375HB, 395HV or40HRC. 7 Rectification of defects 7.1 Correction of distort
18、ion. When permitted in accordance with BSHC100, Section 1, distortion can best be corrected after solution treatment in accordance with5.1. If required by the drawing or order, castings shall subsequently be subjected to the precipitation treatment in accordance with5.2. 7.2 Repair of castings by we
19、lding. When repair by welding is permitted in accordance with BSHC100, Section 1, this shall be carried out after solution treatment and castings shall subsequently be re-solution treated and precipitation treated. 8 Flaw detection The chemical composition of this steel is such that spurious indicat
