Such tanks may be provided with a pro
2、tective lining which has been type approved under article 12 of the Verordnung ber brennbare Flssigkeiten (German Regulation on Flammable Liquids) or been granted a test mark under the building regulations. They are suitable for storing liquids with a maximum density of 1,9 kg/l and may be used at a
3、 working pressure of up to 0,5 bar. Tanks as covered here shall be installed in a catchpit. Excepted from this requirement are single-wall tanks with no connections below the permissible filling height, that are used for the storageof non-flammable liquidsof WGKO*)orof WGKl*), provided thetanks in t

14、welded on stiffeners. Weldsshall be made using suitable equipment and welding filler metals. Preparation of components to be welded shall besuch that high-quality welding is ensured and so as to minimize residual welding stresses. Manufacturing tanks requires written verification of the processes us
15、ed, so as to guarantee the consistent quality of the tanks supplied. Before work begins, tank manufacturers shall have their welding facilities inspected by an expert as defined in paragraph 1, article 16 of the Verordnung berbrennbare Flssigkeiten, such inspection being undertaken in the form of we
16、lding procedure testing as specified in subclause 2.22 of both Technische Regeln fr brennbare Flssigkeiten (Technical rules on flammable liquids) (TRbF) 121 and 221. Welding procedure testing is also required for tanks designed for the storage of non- flammable liquids. If automatic welding is used,
17、 welding one side as opposed to both shall be permitted, provided the welding quality, in a welding procedure test, has been attested to by an expert as defined above. Filler metals shall be compatible with the tank material and provide a tough weld metal. Manual welding shall only be performed by q
18、ualified welders who have undergone approval testing as specified in DIN 8560 (this shall be test group B I for welding St 37 steel). Any protective coatings (e.g. priming or galvanizing) shall be the subject of agreement. The manhole cover shall be provided with a G 1 threaded connection (thread si
19、ze in accordance with IS0 228 Part 1) or another suitable connection, to permit attachment of the level limiter integral with the tank wagons device to prevent overfilling of the tank. If lifting lugs are provided (cf. DIN 6608 Part l), these shall be capable of lifting the empty tank. Thecontactfac
20、es between tankandsupportsshall beselectedtoensure thatwhen thetankisful1,asurfacepressureof 15 N/cm* is not exceeded. 5 Leak detection system Tanks that are not installed in a catchpit shall be lined to prevent leakage as far as possible and be provided with a leak indicating device. Both the linin
21、g and the device shall have been type approved under article 12 of the Verordnung ber brennbare Flssigkeiten or been granted a test mark under the building regulations. 6 Testing Tanks shall be type tested for compliance with the requirements specified in this standard. In addition, upon completion
22、of all welding operations, each tankshall be tested for soundness with water at a pressure of at least2 bar. Tanks which have passed the test shall be issued a test certificate stating all test results and the tank material. 7 Marking Tanks complying with this standard shall bear a durable nameplate
