The DIN 928:1970-

5、05 edition assigned the property class 8 to square weld nuts, adding “weldable”. Since then, proof loads for nuts have been increased and new nut heights specified in international (and European) specifications (see also DIN EN ISO 898-2). Neither in this nor in the previous revision of this standar

6、d did it seem advisable to increase the height of weld nuts by harmonizing it with the calculation basis for nuts with full loadability, since weld nut mounting is largely automated. Changing nut dimensions would have caused major difficulties which would not have been outweighed by a slightly highe

7、r resistance to stripping. Therefore, this latest edition of this standard leaves nut dimensions unchanged, without specifying any property class. Instead, it only specifies steel with a maximum carbon content of 0,25 % and relevant proof loads. The proof loads of weld nuts specified in this standar

8、d are deemed sufficient to form fully loadable connections with bolts of a property class 8.8. Weld nuts with a higher loadability are specified in DIN EN ISO 21670. The DIN 4000-161-5 tabular layout of product properties applies to weld nuts covered by this standard. Attention is drawn to the possi

9、bility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. DIN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights. Amendments This standard differs from DIN 928:2000-01 as follows: a) normative references have been updated; b) in Table 1 and Table

10、 4, the number of positions after the decimal comma has been harmonized; c) according to DIN ISO 965-1, symbol d1has been changed to D; d) symbols d2to d5have been changed to d1to d4; e) in Table 1, the value of m has been corrected for M14 and M14 1,5; f) Table 2 replaces 4.1 to 4.3, 4.5 and 4.6; g

11、) the standard has been revised in form and content. DIN 928:2013-05 contained an error that has been corrected as follows: a) In Table 1, dimension e in the last line (M16) has been corrected from 23 mm to 32 mm. 12、 4 1 Scope This document specifies requirements for square weld nuts with coarse metric threads from sizes M4 to M16 and with fine pitch metric threads from 8 mm to 16 mm in product grade A. According to DIN EN ISO 898-1, weld nuts specified in this standard are suitable for connection with bolts of

25、-2 Surface finish Coating Plain DIN EN ISO 4042 applies with regard to electroplating. Plain weld nuts may already be affected by corrosion during storage or transportation. It is the manufacturers responsibility to take protective measures against corrosion during transportation without impairing n

26、ut weldability. Acceptance inspection DIN EN ISO 3269 applies with regard to acceptance inspection. aOther steel qualities shall be subject to agreement. If the proof load test is carried out according to DIN EN ISO 898-2, the loads given in Table 3 apply. In case of dispute, welding projections sha
