This commercial item description covers the requirements for cotton ter
6、ry-cloth towels. The towels shall be bleached white or dyed, as specified. The cloth shall consist of warp and filling ground yarns and warp pile yarns, woven with a terry weave. When specified, each towel shall be marked “US“ in 1 inch block letters in a black medium to be centered in the border on
7、 one end of the towel. The “US“ marking shall conform to type IV, class 9 of DDD-L-20. Material. The ground warp and filling yarns for all Types and sizes of towels, except the Type I, 24 X 50 inch towel, shall be cotton or polyester/cotton which may contain up to 70% polyester with the remaining pe
8、rcentage cotton. The pile warp yarns shall be 100% cotton which has been spun into singles yarn. The overall fiber content of the Type I, 24 X 50 inch towel shall be 100% cotton. The thread for hemming shall conform to the requirements of A-A-52094. The thread size for end hems shall be ticket No. 4
9、0, 3 ply or ticket No. 50, 3 ply. The thread sizes for the side hem (styles B and C only) shall be ticket No. 50, 3 ply for the needle thread and ticket No. 70, 2 ply or ticket No. 50, 3 ply for the looper thread. The color of the thread shall match the color of the towel. A textured nylon thread ha
10、ving a breaking strength of 4.4 pounds minimum and 10,000 yards per pound minimum may be used as an alternate thread for the 401 stitch. The color of the thread shall match the color of the towel. Label. A commercial type label is acceptable. The commercial label shall include fiber content informat

16、 required, offerers shall submit samples of their intended production. The Product Demonstration Model will consist of units independently developed. Product Demonstration Models will be analyzed and evaluated by the government. Evaluation criteria and basis for award,are contained in the solicitati
17、on. Product Demonstration Models will be retained by the government. Qualitv Assurance Certificati
19、on. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and that the product conforms to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards and quality assurance practices. The government reserves the right to require proof of such conforman
20、ce prior to the first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for, under the provisions of the contract. Reliance on contractor QA systems shall not relieve the contractor of the responsibility of ensuring that all products or supplies submitted to the government for acceptance comply w
21、ith all requirements of the contract. Examination. Towels lots shall be inspected in accordance with “Sampling Procedures and Tables for Inspection by Attributes“, ANSI/ASQC 21.4, published by the American Society for Quality Control. Visual Examination. The towels shall be examined for the defects
22、listed below. The lot size shall be expressed in units of towels. The sample unit is one towel. The inspection level shall be I and the acceptable quality level (AQL), expressed in terms of defects per hundred units, shall be 2.5. Defects. The towels shall be examined for the following defects: any
23、hole, cut, tear, color not as specified; any spot or stain (outside); thread ends not removed; label missing, incorrect, or illegible; measurement of item not as specified; broken cx missing ground warp or filling yarn; fine or light filling bar, light place; wrong draw or reed mark; selvage missing
24、, cut torn, scalloped, curled, rolled, or folded; terry loops missing in combined directions or not formed properly; terry pile caught in side hem; objectionable odor; any trash, motes, leaf, or seed coat fragments; wrong seam or stitch type; stitching margins not as required; loose tension, resulti
