20、estedshallbetakenasdescribedinENISO15528. 5 Preparationofthetestspecimens 5.1Premixing Thequantityofcolouringmaterialspecifiedfortheparticulartestsampleismixedforexamplefor5minina shakingmixerwiththePVCbasicmixtureonwhichthetestsampleisbased.Alternatively,andintheparticular caseofcolouringmaterialsi
21、npasteform,itisrecommendedthatpremixingbecarriedoutbyhandusingaspatula inapolyethyleneorpolypropylenebeaker,untilthemixtureappearshomogeneous. 22、E) 4 5.2 Tworollmilling Themixisplacedonthetworollmill,therollsurfacesofwhichhavebeenadjustedtoatemperatureof (1605)C.Atemperaturedifferencebetweentherollsispermissibleifitiswithintheselimits.Theamountofmix isjudgedsothatonceamilledsheethasformedthereisalwaysarotatingbankofmoltenmaterialinthegap bet
23、weentherolls.Thegapbetweentherollsistobeadjustedsothatthemilledsheethasauniformthicknessof 0,4mmto0,5mm. Thesheetisformedinsuchawaythatthewholeofthematerialformsacontinuoussheetonthefrontroll.During therollingprocess,themilledsheetshallbecontinuouslyturnedoverorremovedandreapplied,soastogive thoroug
24、hmixing. NOTE Whenthecolouringmaterialhasnotbeenpremixed,itshouldbeaddedgraduallyanduniformlytotherollingbank. Afterthemixhasbeenapplieditshouldbeworkedfor200rollrevolutions.Therollingtimeshallbeatleast5min andnotexceed10min. Themilledsheetisthendrawnoff.Tothisend,itispermissibletochangethegapbetwee
25、ntherollsand,ifdesired, thespeedofrotationandfriction. 5.3 Pressingoftestspecimens Itmaybenecessarytopressthemilledsheetinordertoimprovethesurfacequality,e.g.toachievehighglossor tocreateasufficientlythicksampleforphotometricmeasurement. Thesectionsofthesheetandaspacerframeofthedesiredthickness,arep
26、lacedbetweenhighglosschromed platesinaplatepressheatedtoatemperaturebetween165Cand170C,andpressedfornotmorethan2min. Thepressedsheetisthencooledrapidly.EN144692:2004(E) 5 Annex A (informative) Explanations Theproductionofsheetsontworollmillsiscustomaryinthelaboratoriesconcerned.Themannerinwhichthe p
27、igmentsareincorporatedintothebasicmixtures,andtheprocessconditions,areimportantforthedegreeof dispersionobtained.This,inturn,isadecisivefactorindeterminingthepropertiesofthecolouredmaterials.To obtainreproducibleresults,suitableconditionsweredeterminedthroughextendedexperimentalwork.Variationsin lab
28、oratoryapparatushavebeentakenintoaccountinthisstandard,ashaseaseofimplementation. Thefollowingremarksapplytoindividualsectionsofthestandard: Clause1 Whentestingpreparations,itshouldbeborneinmindthatthecarriermaterialonwhichthepreparationisbased canaltertheoverallpropertiesofthebasicmixture.Ifthecarr
29、ierforthepigmentpreparationisincompatiblewith thebasicmixture,miscibilityisfrequentlyalsopoor.Ontheotherhandifmiscibilityisgood,anyeffectwhichthe carriermaterialmayhaveonthepropertiesofthebasicmixturecanusuallyonlybedetectedbyspecifictests.Only thenisitpossibletoarriveatdecisionsconcerningtheusabili
30、tyofpigmentpreparation. Clause3 Thestandardtakesaccountofthevariationsfoundinrolldiametersofconventionallaboratorytworollmills. Clause5.1 Themannerinwhichthepigmentisincorporatedintothebasicmixturespriortotworollmillinghasamarkedeffect onthecolourresultsobtainedaftertherollmillingofthesheet.Noadditi
31、onalgrindingofthepigmentshouldtake placeinthemixingprocedure.Incorporationbythemethoddescribedensuresthatthisisso.Dispersingofthe pigmentsshouldnottakeplaceuntilthesheetsaremilled.Themillingtimeandthenumberofrotations,andalso thesettingofthegapbetweentherolls,arethereforeimportant.
