14、ith food”, the secretariat of which is held by BSI. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by May 2006, and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by May 2006. EN 14916:2005 (E) 4 Introduction European draft standards on safety and performance requirements for items of cookware are currently under study. These drafts are related
17、to cookware for use on top of a stove, cooker or hob, to cookware for use on induction plates, to ovenware and to cookware for microwave ovens. In these drafts, it is required that cookware or its packaging be labelled with information on the heating source types for which the products are suitable.
18、 The aim of the present document is to establish graphical symbols which should be used for this purpose. EN 14916:2005 (E) 5 1 Scope This European Standard specifies graphical symbols to be placed on cookware or its packaging to inform the consumer about the heating sources for which the products h
