This reference document was approved by CENELEC on 1994-03-

10、08. The text of document 34D(CO)253, as prepared by the same subcommittee was submitted to the IEGCENELEC parallel vote in December 1993. This reference document was approved by CENELEC on 1994-07-05. 1989 and its amendment A2 : 1991. “he reference documents for this standard together with 34D(C)246

11、 and 34D(C)253 were published as IEC 598-2-6 : 1994 which was approved by CENELEC as EN 60598-2-6 on 1994-07-05. This European Standard should be used in conjunction with the latest edition and any amendments to EN 60598-1 Lunainaims - Part 1 : Generac mquiwments and tests. The following dates were

12、fixed: This Eurcipean Standard R c) the nominal output voltage and nominal output current or VA for each tapping or winding. If, for transformers and convertors with tapped or multiple output windings however, the transformer or convertor is designed for special purposes involving frequent changes i

13、n output voltage (for example by a tap changing device), this marking is not required. I I 6.5.5 If a replaceable fuse-link is used to protect the transformer or convertor, the rating of the fuse-link shall be marked on or adjacent to its holder. If the transformer or convertor incorporates a replac

14、eable fuse-link which is not visible during servicing, the fuse symbol shall be marked on the transformer or convertor: . U (see symbol No. 5016 in IEC 417). 6.6 Constructlon The provisions of section 4 of IEC 598-1 apply together with the requirements of 6.6.1 to 6.6.3. 6.6.1 safety of the supply c

15、ircuit. This is achieved in one of the following ways: The electrical safety of the output circuit shall be at least equivalent to the electrical a) using an auto-wound transformer, for which the insulation of the secondary circuit shall satisfy mains voltage requirements; see also sections 5, 8, 1

16、O and 11 of IEC 598-1 ; b) using a double-wound transformer or a convertor with a double-wound output transformer. The insulation between the windings of these transformers shall be basic insulation or reinforced insulation. NOTE - For class II luminaires with basic insulation in the transformer or

17、convertor, supplementary insulation is required between accessible parts of the luminaire and the output circuit of the transformer or convertor. 18、ircuit, not more than one pole of the output circuit shall be accessible or connected to accessible parts. This requirement applies only where the output circuit voltage exceeds 24 V. For double-wound transformers with functional insulation between input and output circuit in class O luminaires, not

19、 more than one pole of the output circuit shall be accessible. This requirement applies only where the output circuit voltage exceeds 24 V. 6.6.2 In class II luminaires in which the output poles are accessible. the insulation between input and output windings, regarded as reinforced insulation, shal

20、l comply with the following requirements: a) the input and output windings shall be separated by an insulating barrier, and the construction shall be such that there is no possibility of any connection between these windings, either directly or indirectly, through other metal parts; b) in particular

21、, precautions shall be taken to prevent: - displacement of input or output or the turns thereof; - displacement of internal wiring or wires for external connections, undue displacement of parts of windings, or of internal wiring, in the event of rupture of wires adjacent to connections or loosening

22、of connections: - wires, screws, washers and similar parts from bridging any part of the.insulation between the input circuit and the output circuit, including the windings, should they loosen or become free. Examples of construction complying with these requirements are given in annex A. 6.6.3 Comp

23、liance with the requirements of 6.6.1 and 6.6.2 shall be checked by inspection and by insulation test according to section 10 of IEC 598-1. 6.7 Creepage distances and clearances The provisions of section 11 of IEC 598-1 apply. 6.8 Provision for earthing The provisions of section 7 of IEC 598-1 apply

24、 together with the requirements of 6.8.1 to 6.8.3. 6.8.1 The requirements for earthing shall apply to a metal shell of a lampholder which forms one connection to the lamp and is accessible with the lamp in position. These requirements also apply to accessible metal around the lamp, even if the lamp

25、is remote from the I transformer or convertor (e.9. if the lamp compartment is carried on a flexible arm). 26、conjunction with an. autotransformer. This requirement shall not apply io larnpholders used in conjunction with SELV isolating transformers. NOTE - Where the metal shell of a lampholder is earthed. separate current-carrying conductors are necessary to ensure compliance with 6.8.3 below. I 6.8.2 If t

27、he secondary winding of a transformer or convertor of a class 1 luminaire is separate from the primary winding, then the secondary circuit if earthed, shall be earthed at only one point. 6.8.3 Earthed metal other than the shell of a lampholder shall not form part of a current path dur ng normal oper

28、ation of the luminaire. 6.9 Terminals The provisions of sections 14 and 15 of IEC 598-1 apply. 6.10 External and internal wiring The provisions of section 5 of IEC 598-1 apply. 6.11 Protection against electric shock The provisions of section 8 of IEC 598-1 apply. 6.12 Endurance tests and thermal tes

29、ts The provisions of section 12 of IEC 598-1 apply together with the following requirements: a) During the endurance test, the supply voltage during operating periods shall be 1,l f 0,015 times the nominal voltage. b) During the tests for normal operation, a luminaire shall be operated at 1,06 times

30、 the nominal supply voltage. Convertors according to IEC 1046 with 6 marking are to be tested at 1 ,O6 times nominal voltage. For transformers, the temperature rise of the windings shall not exceed the values related to the class of winding insulation specified in IEC 742. c c) Luminaires with an IP

31、 classification greater than IP20 shall be subjected to the relevant tests of clauses 12.4, 12.5 and 12.6 of section 12 of IEC 598-1 after the test) of clause 9.2, but before the test(s) of clause 9.3 of section 9 of IEC 598-1 specified in clause 6.13 of this section of IEC 598-2. 6.13 Resistance to

32、 dust and moisture The provisions of section 9 of IEC 598-1 apply. 0 BSI 1997 Page 9 EN 659-2-6 : 1994 For luminaires with an 1P classification greater than IP20 the order of the tests specified in section 9 of IEC 598-1 shall be as specified in clause 6.12 of this section of IEC 598-2. 6.1 4 Insula

33、tlon reslstance and electric strength The provisions of section 10 of IEC 598-1 apply. The test voltage between the supply circuit and the output circuit shall be as the test voltage between the supply circuit and the body. 6.15 Reslstance to heat, fire and tracklng The provisions of section 13 of I

35、indings on a single spool, with a partition wall, of adequate insulating material, provided that the spool and partition wall are pressed or moulded in one piece, or that pushed-on partition walls have an intermediate sheath or covering over the joint between the spool and the partition wall; c) con

36、centric windings on insulation which is applied in thin sheets to a spool or the transformer iron core, and between the input winding and each output winding, provided that at least three layers are used and that when two layers of the sheet material are placed in contact they will withstand the tes

37、t voltage for reinforced insulation when the test voltage is applied between the outer surfaces of the two layeis. All windings should have the end turns retained by a positive means. This could be by the use of sheet insulating material or by the use of a hard baking material which fully penetrates

38、 the interstices and effectively seals off the end turns. It is unlikely that two independent fixings will loosen at the same time.
