28、ial cables for local area networks 1 General 1.1 Scope and object This sectional specification specifies requirements for radio frequency coaxial cables for local area networks. The object of this sectional specification is to prescribe recommended ratings and characteristics and to select from the
29、generic specification the appropriate quality assessment procedures, test and measuring methods, and to give general performance requirements for coaxial cables for local area networks plus complementary test methods. Test severities and requirements prescribed in detail specifications referring to
30、this sectional specification should be of equal or higher performance levels. When the requirements of IEC 61196-1 and of this sectional specification conflict with each other, this sectional specification shall prevail. 1.2 Normative references The following normative documents contain provisions w

34、5, Radio-frequency cables - Part 7: Generic specification: General, definitions, requirements and test methods 1.3 Definitions For the purpose of this specification, the terms and definitions given in IEC 61196-1, IEC 60050(461) and the following apply. 1.3.1 local area network a network provided wi
35、thin the premises 1.3.2 loop DCR summation of the d.c. resistances of the inner conductor and outer conductor (or screen) of a specified length of cable 1.3.3 loamed dielectric cable cable in which all the space between the inner conductor and the outer conductor (or screen) is filled by a cellular
36、dielectric. The cellular structure is uniformly distributed between the conductors and may be covered by a skin (solid dielectric) layer. 37、um measured surface transfer impedance magnitude on a specified frequency range 1.4 Installation considerations 1.4.1 Pulling strength The maximum allowable pulling force to be applied to the cable shall be limited to 20 N. 1.4.2 Temperature rating During installation: O OC to +60 OC Working and sto
38、rage: -15 “C to +60 OC 1.4.3 Bending radius The minimum allowable bending radius shall be specified in the relevant detail specification. I l 2 Materials and cable construction I 2.1 General Materials used shall comply with the requirements specified in IEC 61 196-1, except where such requirements a
39、re modified by this specification. 2.2 Cable construction The cable construction shall be in accordance with the requirements given in the relevant detail specif kat ion. 40、conductor shall consist of plain or tinned annealed copper uniform in quality and free from defects. The properties of the copper shall be in accordance with IEC 60028 and if the inner conductor is tinned, it shall be tested in accordance with IEC 61 196-1, 5.5.2.1. 2.3.2 Conductor construction The
41、construction of the inner conductor shall be as specified in the relevant detail specification. Where the inner conductor consists of a single wire there shall be no joints in the wire made after the last drawing operation. Joints in individual strands of a stranded conductor shall be cold pressure
42、welded, brazed or silver soldered using a non-acid flux such that the strand diameter shall not be increased. No joint in an individual strand shall be within 0,3 m of a joint in any other individual strand. 2.4 Dielectric The type of dielectric required for each cable shall be specified in the rele
43、vant detail specification. The diameter over dielectric, the ovality and the eccentricity shall be given in the relevant detail specif cation. 2.5 Outer conductor or screen The construction and material of the outer conductor and/or screen shall be as specified in the relevant detail specification.
44、The copper braid wires shall be uniform in quality and free from defects. The properties of the copper shall be in accordance with IEC 60028, and if the copper wire is tinned, it shall be tested in accordance with IEC 61 196-1, 5.5.2.1. The outer conductor or screen may be: a) a braid of plain or ti
45、nned annealed copper wires. Joints in the braiding wires shall be soldered, twisted or woven in and there shall be no joint in the complete braid. The braid shall be evenly applied. The filling factor shall be specified in the relevant detail specification; b) a double braid of plain or tinned annea
46、led copper wires. Joints in the braiding wires shall be soldered, twisted or woven in and there shall be no joint in the complete braid. The braid shall be evenly applied. The filling factor shall be specified in the relevant detail specif cat ion; c) a layer of metallized plastic film applied with
47、a sufficient overlap, bonded or not bonded, covered with a tinned copper braid when the metal layer is aluminium and a plain copper braid when the metal layer is copper. The filling factor shall be specified in the relevant detail specification; d) any combination of the above. 2.6 Sheath The outer sheath of the cable shall be of plastic material as specified in t
49、he relevant detail specif ication. For safety reasons, flame retardant, low smoke and halogen-free materials may be required. Their characteristics and related test methods are under consideration. 2.7 Colour of the sheath The colour of the sheath shall be specified in the relevant detail specification. The colour should be in accordance with IEC 60304. 2.8 Identification 2.8.1 Cable identification Cable identification shall be made by markings on the sheath. 2.8.2 Sheath marking Sheath marking shall be in accordance wi
