2、-C 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a black flash primer. 2. APPLICATION This material was originally released as a coating for steering column outer tubes. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to
3、the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 COMPOSITION 3.1.1 Non-Volatile, min 47% FLTM BI 102-01 3.1.2 Exempt Solvent The volatile portion shall not be photochemically reactive as defined below: A photochemically reactive solvent is any solvent with an aggrega
4、te of more than 20% of its total volume composed of the chemical compounds classified below or which exceeds any of the following individual percentage composition limitations, referred to the total volume of solvent: (1) A combination of hydrocarbons, alcohols, aldehydes, esters or ketones having a
5、n olefinic or cycloolefinic type of unsaturation - 5%. (2) A combination of aromatic compounds with eight or more carbon atoms to the molecule except ethylbenzene - 8%. (3) A combination of ethylbenzene, ketones having branches, hydrocarbon structures, trichloroethylene or toluene - 20%. Whenever an
6、y organic solvent or any constituent of an organic solvent may be classified from its chemical structure into more than one of the above groups of organic compounds, it shall be considered as a member of the most reactive chemical group, that is, that group having the least allowable percent of the
7、total volume of solvents. 8、 this specification to Ford Motor Company Purchasing, AAD, Paint Operations and the Assembly Plant involved for each color supplied. 3.1.4 Toxicity This material shall contain no benzol (benzene), chlorinated or other toxic compounds, or hydrolysable chlorine derivatives, nor have an obnoxious or ob
9、jectionable odor. 3.2 PHYSICAL PROPERTIES 3.2.1 Viscosity 26-34S FLTM BI 111-01 3.2.2 Weight 1.13-1.25 Kg/l 3.2.3 Stability The material shall not jell nor liver on standing. Test Method: Place a sealed pint can, 3/4 filled with the material, in an oven for 16 hours at 60 C. An appreciable increase
10、in viscosity (approximately 15 seconds) shall indicate non-stability. 3.3 FILM PROPERTIES 3.3.1 Adhesion Shall be satisfactory when tested per Ford Laboratory Test Method BI 106-01. 3.4 RESISTANCE PROPERTIES 3.4.1 Water Immersion There shall be no failure by loss of adhesion after 96 hours water immersion per Ford Laboratory Test Method BI 104-01.
