2、f 2 RUST PREVENTIVE, WATER EMULSION - WAX TYPE ESA-M7C6-A NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a rust preventive which is in a water suspension and gives an adherent wax film. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used

3、to protect ferrous metal surfaces. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 FORMULATION This material shall consist of waxes, fats, grease

4、s, wetting agents and couplers, which will make a stable, protective coating meeting the requirements of this specification. 3.2 APPLICATION CHARACTERISTICS This material shall be suitable for application by spraying or brushing and shall be readily removed by washing with mineral spirits. The mater

5、ial can be used as received or diluted up to two parts water to one part of rust preventive, dependent upon the coating thickness desired. 3.3 FILM CHARACTERISTICS This material shall form a homogenous stable, non-corrosive protective film, free of sediment or other contaminants. 3.4 COMPOSITION REQ

6、UIREMENTS 3.4.1 Water Content, max 64% 3.4.2 pH, as received 8.0 - 9.5 3.4.3 Melting Point of Residue 72 C - 76 C 3.5 CORROSION REQUIREMENT No rust after (FLTM BJ 107-03) 2,000 h 3.6 FILM FLOW TEST The film shall show no evidence of flow. 3.6.1 Test Method: Brush on polished steel panels the materia

7、l as received and air dry 24 hours; hang vertically in oven at 70 C for 24 hours. Examine for flow.
