SCOPEThe material performance defined by this specification is for aviscoelastic damping

2、layer sandwiched between two steel outerlayers.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material used for non-spotwelded, bolt-on, 1990 Continental roof bows.Since spot welding of laminated steel offers some unique problems,material intended for such applications should be weld t

3、ested, prior tobeing placed on the engineering drawing, to establish manufacturingfeasibility.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSuppliers must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStandard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source

4、approval. Appropriatestatistical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSAll test values indicated herein are based on materials conditionedin a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/-

5、 5 % relativehumidity for 24 h prior to testing and tested under the samecontrolled conditions.3.3 Composition and ConstructionSteel Layers - Composition and thickness as specified onengineering drawingAcrylic Viscoelastic Layer - Thickness as specified on engineeringdrawing.ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPE

Report sandwiched specimen loss factor onlyNOTE: Report the value interpolated by intersecting the 200 Hzfrequency line and the straight line connecting the loss factorvalues for the resonance

10、s directly on either side of 200 Hz.Maximum damping loss factor occurs at 20 C*The loss factor value will vary at a given temperature dependingon the particular construction detail specified on the engineeringdrawing; however, the temperature at which the maximum loss factoroccurs and the relative s

11、hape of the profile should remain the samewith changes to the laminate construction specified on theengineering drawing.3.6 AGED DAMPING LOSS FACTOR, min equal to originalvaluesThe five test beams evaluated above in para 3.5 shall bereevaluated per para 3.5 after the following heat exposure cycle:60

13、% loss oftorqueAfter second heat exposure No loss of torqueA sample of the laminate shall be cut and drilled as shown inFigure 2. This sample is to be bolted between two 9.5 mm thickmild steel plates using four 19.1 mm grade 8 bolts. grade 8 SAE(UNF) nuts, and 19.1 mm diameter washers. A torque of 3

14、00 Nm shallbe applied to each bolt using a hand torque wrench with an accuracyof +/- 3 %.The assembly shall be heated for 7 days at 95 C and allowed to coolto standard conditions. The move on torque shall then be recorded.After retorquing to 300 Nm, the heating cycle shall be repeated andno further

15、loss of torque shall occur.3.9 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISAll samples shall produce spectra or thermograms that correspond tothe reference standard when tested under the same conditions. Theinfrared spectra or thermograms established for initial approvalshall constitute the re

16、ference standard and shall be kept on fileat the designated material laboratory.3.10 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inall characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Prior to making any changes in the properties,

17、composition,construction, color, processing or labeling of the materialoriginally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchanges affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering a

18、ctivity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, test samples and a new code identificationare to be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford apply tothe materials addressed by this document.

APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMaterials defined by th

20、is specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffected Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the

21、 affected Materials Engineeringactivity its own laboratory report to the specification (test results,not nominal values), the material designation and code number and testspecimens for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be addedto the Engineering Material Approved Source List.5. GENER
