SCOPE This specification defines the performance requirements for a nonsag, two component epoxy filler for fiberglass reinforced polyester (FRP). The filler is capable of being cured in 5 to 10 min at a temperature of 149 C, and is capable of b
3、eing sanded while still hot. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used as a production line repair for surface cracks, gouges and scratches on fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) parts, such as Lincoln upper grille bar, FRP body components and/or quarter panels on t
4、ruck vehicles. 3. REQUIREMENTS All tests are to be conducted on damaged 12 x 12 in (300 x 300 mm) glass reinforced polyester (FRP) test panels that have been repaired and painted in accordance with Ford Motor Company Repair Standard 9-V-72 with the repaired area located near the center of the panel.
5、 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 WEATHERING RESISTANCE The repaired test area shall exhibit no change in color or fading as compared to adjacent
6、nonrepaired areas when exposed as follows: 400 h weatherometer exposure per FLTM BO 101-01. 12 months minimum exposure at 5 facing south in the Miami, Florida area. (This test shall be conducted for supplier qualification only.) In the event of difference in the test results of accelerated weatherin
7、g and Florida exposure, the results of the Florida exposure shall govern. 3.2 WATER IMMERSION, min 240 h (FLTM BI 104-01) No blistering or loss of gloss. 8、f adhesion, or evidence of cracking, blistering, paint peeling or dulling between the repaired area and the adjacent nonrepaired area of the test panel when tested as follows: Test Method Subject the panels to 10 cycles of the following: 4 h at -29 +/- 1C 4 h at 88 +/- 1C 16 h at 38 +/- 1C and 95 -
9、100% R.H. Cool the panels to -29 +/- 1C for 4 h minimum. Insert a panel in the slamming fixture temperature conditioned at -29 +/- 1C. Drop the panel from the horizontal position 10 times in rapid succession. Allow them to warm up to 23 +/- 2C for a minimum of 3 h. Repeat test for a total of 6 cycle

GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 WEIGHT/VOLUME (ASTM D 816) The weight tolerance for any one supplier shall be +/- 0.2 lb/gal (0.02 kg/L), based on the recorded weight of his orig

12、 exposure to resins and/or dust may be encountered in some cases. Instruct personnel using this material to thoroughly wash hands with soap and water.
