APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used in applications specified on Enginee

12、DE (SAE J 1885, 120 SFH) The vinyl coating shall not stain, exhibit color tone change or change in hue, in accordance with rating 5 of the AATCC Gray Scale for Measuring Change in Color. Production materials shall exhibit light fastness qualities equal to or better than the master sample (as approve
13、d for production and filed by the Textile Engineering Section, BEPE Materials Engineering Department. 3.18 AGING When the specimens used for the resistance to fade test (Para 3.17) are folded 180 upon themselves (coating side out), the coating shall not crack. 3.19 ABRASION (FLTM BN 108-02) After th
14、e wear test, the materials color and pattern in the wear area shall be compatible in appearance with the adjacent unabraded areas of the wear test specimen. Printed, metallic, and other vinyl surface coatings shall withstand 500 cycles, using CS #10 wheels, and 1000 g load. The color of the base vin
15、yl coating shall be compatible with the metallic surface and shall in no instance be of a lighter color than the metallic surface. 3.20 SOILING, max 15% (FLTM BN 112-01) 3.21 FOGGING (SAE J 1756) Light Transmission Reading 70 - 100 Note: Exudations resulting in running liquid, heavy beads, and/or dr

The resistance to flexing of approved production material shall be equal to or better than that exhibited by the master sample (as approved for production and filed by the Textile Engineering Section.) Materials which are considered to have a disagreeable odor according to Quality Control, or the Textile Engineering Section, will be subject to reje
19、ction. 3.24 SAMPLING The acceptance or rejection of these materials shall be based on samples taken from 20% of the rolls in each shipment, except that, in shipments of 1 - 3 rolls, each roll shall be tested; in shipments of 4 - 9 rolls, 3 rolls shall be tested; in shipments of 10 - 19 rolls, 4 roll
20、s shall be tested. 3.25 FLAMMABILITY REQUIREMENT In order to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 302, the materials, portions of components, and composites shall not burn, or transmit a flame across its surface, at a rate of more than 4 in (101 mm) per min. To demonstrate complianc
21、e, the sample size and method of testing shall be in accordance with FLTM BN 024-02. 3.26 PERFORMANCE - ENVIRONMENTAL AGING REQUIREMENT All materials, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have not been treated, modified or reformulated and exceed a max burn rate
22、of 3.0 in (76 mm) per min as specified by the Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 024-02, must be evaluated for permanency of the materials flame retardant properties per ESB-M25P3-A according to the accelerated environmental aging requirements applicable to the basic material category of this
23、 particular specification. Any material, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have been treated, modified or reformulated to conform to Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 024-02, regardless of max burn rate, must be evaluated for both permanency of materia
24、ls flame retardant properties and changes in mechanical, chemical and physical properties per ESB-M25P3-A applicable to the basic materials category of this particular specification. 3.27 FLAMMABILITY TEST PROGRAM Materials, portions of components, and composites governed by this specification must
25、also comply with the requirements of ES-D3AB-11014-AA. 3.28 DEFECTS Any piece, that averages more than one defect per 12 yd (11 m) shall be considered seconds and unless otherwise agreed upon, shall be subject to rejection for full credit or replacement at our option. Page 5 of 5 3.29 BONDING ASSEMBLY REQUIREMENTS In addition to the requirements listed above, bonding grade materials shall meet the following added requirements. 3.29.1 Material Acceptability The criterion
27、for material acceptability shall be the assemblys job performance. This means that the materials composition and formulation must form a satisfactory bond to itself as an overlay and/or as an underlay when bonded separately and with the remaining approved components in the assembly and when bonded u
28、nder approved production conditions. 3.29.2 Bond Strength These requirements will depend on the assemblys application and design and are controlled by the specifications for the foundation padding materials used in the assembly when tested as described in FLTM BN 113-01 and BN 113-02. 5. GENERAL INF
29、ORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 WEATHER EXPOSURE TEST At any time during an 8 month Florida weather exposure tests, this material shall not fade or crack any more than the master sample approved for production.
