2、METAL - PAINTED AND ENGRAVED ESB-M99J239-A NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a lithograph printed and engraved metal panel (generally aluminum), protected from wear, oxidation and aging with a clear epoxy modified acrylic coating. 2. APPLICATION Thi

3、s specification was released originally for material used as a door trim panel ornamentation or for similar functional and decorative trim applications as approved by engineering. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to

4、 the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 APPEARANCE The color, pattern, and finish shall match the approved Design Center master sample, or shall be as specified on the engineering drawing. 3.2 METAL BACKING The metal backing (generally aluminum) shall be ch

5、emically cleaned prior to printing and treated to prevent corrosion. Other metals, may be used provided the type and quality is approved by engineering and specified on the drawings. 3.3 DIMENSIONS The surface coating, metal backing and total thickness shall be specified on the engineering drawings

6、along with other part dimensions. 3.4 DRAWABILITY The material shall bend 180 around a 1/2 in (13 mm) mandrel without damage to the film or printing. 3.5 HEAT AGING The material shall show no evidence of tackiness, or exhibit staining, color tone change or change in hue, in excess of a 5 rating of t

7、he AATCC Gray Scale for evaluating change in color (10 step). Any “spotty“ or non-uniform staining or discoloration shall be cause for rejection. Production materials shall exhibit heat aging qualities equal to or better than the master sample (as approved for production by the Textile Engineering S

8、ection, BEPE Materials Engineering Department) on file. Remove and examine for discoloration. 3.6 HUMIDITY, min

9、100 h No evidence of deterioration, or shall the metal backing show evidence of corrosion when a laminated sheet or formed part is exposed at 98 +/- 2% relative humidity at 38 +/- 1 C. 3.7 MIGRATION STAINING (FLTM BN 103-01) The surface of the coating shall show no evidence of injurious exudation, a

10、dhesion (tackiness), separation, color transfer, or flattening of the embossing when placed face to face with itself or materials of the ESB-M2F4-9-62 series. 3.8 H2S STAINING (FLTM AN 102-01) The material shall correspond to a rating 5 when compared to the AATCC Gray Scale for evaluating change in

11、color (10 step) chart for measuring the transference of color. Production materials shall exhibit H2S staining qualities equal to or better than the master sample (as approved for production by the Textile Engineering Section, BEPE Materials Engineering Department) on file. 3.9 FADE 120 SFH (SAE J18

12、85) The coating shall not stain, exhibit color tone change or change in hue, in accordance with rating 5 of the AATCC Gray Scale for evaluating change in color (10 step). Production materials shall exhibit lightfastness qualities equal to or better than the master sample (as approved for production

13、by the Textile Engineering Section, BEPE Materials Engineering Department) on file. 3.10 FLEXIBILITY AFTER AGING The coated surface of the material shall exhibit no crazing or cracking when folded 180 around a 1/2 in (13 mm) diameter mandrel (coating side out) after the Resistance to Fade Test (para

14、 3.9). 3.11 CROCKING (FLTM BN 107-01) The materials shall correspond to rating 5 when compared to the AATCC chart for measuring the transference of color. 3.12 WEAR (FLTM BN 108-02, 1000 g load) Wear pattern and color shall be compatible in appearance with the unabraded area of the wear test specime

15、n. Production materials shall exhibit wear qualities equal to or better than that exhibited by the master sample approved by the Textile Engineering Section, BEPE Materials Engineering Department. 16、J239-A Copyright 2012, Ford Global Technologies, LLC Page 3 of 3 3.13 SCUFFlNG (FLTM BN 108-04, 400 cycles, “A“ head, 2 lb (0.9 kg) load) Scuff pattern and color shall be compatible in appearance with the adjacent unscuffed area of the test specimen. The resistance to scuffing of production material

17、 shall be equal to or better than that exhibited by the master sample (as approved for production by the Textile Engineering Section, BEPE Materials Engineering Department) on file. 3.14 ODOR The coating must not have a disagreeable odor. Odors which are considered disagreeable according to the Qual

18、ity Control or Textile Engineering Section, BEPE Materials Engineering Department will be subject to rejection. 3.15 FOGGING - Light Transmission 60 - 100 (SAE J 1756) Exudations resulting in running liquid, heavy beads, and/or droplets, or a continuous film deposit on the surface of the glass are not desired and shall be reported along with numerical results. 3.16 MATERIAL ACCEPTABILITY The criterion for material acceptability shall be based on the materials appearance and performance during and after the manufacturing of formed parts.
