4、ct is continuously reduced.3.2 COMPOSITION3.2.1 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infraredand/o r thermal analysis of material/parts supplied to thisspeci fication. The IR spectra and thermograms establishedfor initial approval sh all co
5、nstitute the reference standardand s hall be kept on file at the designated materiallaborat ory. All samples shall produce IR spectra andtherm ograms that correspond to the reference standard whentested under the same conditions.3.2.2 UV Spectroscopic AnalysisA UV spectroscopic anal ysis is to be ca
6、rried out on approvedinitial samples from th e FoMoCo Quality Control or Ford TestLaboratories. The resu lts are to be retained. 27、EU-BI 60-1)Panels prepared according to # 3.4 are exposed at 5 degfacing south for 12 months in the Miami/Florida area.Only slight dulling colour change or fading must occur.After 12 months exposure no cracking, checking, rust-blistersor peel ing shall be visible. The panels must then show agloss of
28、 minimum 70 uni ts using a 20 deg glossmeter (FLTM BI110-1) and must be free from dirt and mildew. The paintsys tem on the weathered panel must withstand the adhesiontest FLTM BI 106-1 method C.Loss of adhesion of the clearcoat or of the total system isnot permitted.Until finally establish ed, the p

The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WS S-M99P9999-A1, unlessa different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineeringdocument for the application.3.10 APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMater
39、ials defined by this specification must have prior approval bythe responsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiringapp roval of their materials shall first obtain an expression ofintere st from the affected Purchasing, Design and MaterialsEngineering activity. Upon request, the supplie
40、r shall submit to theaffected Materials Engi neering activity its own laboratory report tothe specification (test results, not nominal values), the materialdesignation and code nu mber, and test specimens for Ford evaluation.Upon approval, the material will be added to the Engineering MaterialApproved Source List.
