2、d determines the resistance of automotive electrical cable to fire exposure and flame propagation. Apparatus Required Bunsen Burner Draft-free Room Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/ - 2 C and 50 +/

3、- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Procedure Method A 1. Prepare a test specimen as required by the relevant Engineering Materials Specification. 2. The Bunsen burner must have an overall flame length of 10

4、0 mm and the inner blue flame of 50 mm. Flame temperature to be 950 +/ - 50 C measured at the peak of the inner blue flame. 3. Stretch the test specimen declining at a 45 degree angle (see Figure 1). Arrange the Bunsen burner flame as shown. 4. Subject the test specimen to the Bunsen burner flame fo

5、r a maximum of 30 s, b ut not longer than to allow the copper conductor to become visible. 5. Remove the burner flame. The flame on the specimen shall not exist for more than 30 s. 6、ion starts burning, it must not burn at a rate greater than 100 mm per mi nute. 7. Report the results. Method B 1. Same as Method A except test specimen to be in a horizontal position.
