SCOPE This specification defines the performance requirements of decorative windows. Two types are defined, as follows: Type I Decoration a
3、pplied between the layers of laminated glass. Type II Decoration applied to expose surface of either tempered or laminated glass. 2. APPLICATION These performance requirements were released originally for styling effects requiring decorative quarter window. Decorative materials utilized to attain th
4、e desired effects may include paints, ceramics, metal inserts or other materials either alone or in combination. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M
5、99P1111-A). 3.4 APPEARANCE Shall match the Ford Motor Company master sample. 3.5 ADHESION Type I No delamination of the glass-polyvinyl butyral bond is permitted after exposure to any resistance test. 3.6 HARDNESS (Type II Only) The decorative material shall be sufficiently hard at time of packing t
6、o withstand normal handling and shipping without marring. 3.7 ABRASION RESISTANCE (Type II Only) The decorative material shall exhibit no more abrasion or dulling than that shown on the master sample approved by Body Materials Engineering and kept on file at the Glass Division, per Test Number 18 AN
7、SI Standard Z26.1, 1977, January 26, 1977, as supplemented by Z26.1a, July 3, 1980, and incorporated by reference in FMVSS 205, February 23, 1984, except that the wheel must be refaced with a new 600 grit paper disc prior to abrading each specimen. Note: Approval of new ceramic paste suppliers, mast

In the event of differences in test results between accelerated and Florida weathering, results of the Florida exposure shall govern. 3.12 WATER RESISTANCE (Type II Only) min 240 h (FLTM BI 104-01) No blistering, dulling, color change, serious roughening
13、 or loss of adhesion. Adhesion shall be determined as follows: Remove the part from the water and scribe an “X“ through the film to the glass substrate. Dry the test area, using a paper towel, cloth or air pressure and immediately apply fiber reinforced tape to the scribed area with firm thumb press

Any removal of decorative material more than 1.6 mm from the scribe line, or evidence of blistering, shall be basis for rejection. 3.13 WATER RESISTANCE AFTER WEATHERING 24 h (Type II Only) After either accelerated or Florida weathering exposure, the part shall be immersed in water per FLTM BI 104-01. There shall be no failure as defined in para 3.11. 3.14 MATERIAL COMPONENTS Approved decorative materials utilized in the fabrication of these windows are indicated in the Ford Motor Company Approved Source List.
