Cut from a finished part 15 samples each 250 mm, in length (3 samples
18、 for each test) and assemble each onto a suitable carrier as shown in Fig. 1. Place the test assembly under a flat compression plate mounted onto the load cell of a Tensile Testing Machine operating in the compression mode. Alternatively if specified on the Engineering Drawing, use the Load/ Deflect
19、ion fixture as shown on the Engineering Drawing. Slowly bring the compression plate into contact with the top of the weatherstrip so that it is only just in contact along the entire length of the test specimen. Determine the original height (H0) as shown in Fig. 1. 2) Determine the Compression Load
20、(P1) by deflecting the sample to 14 mm height or to the deflection specified on the Engineering Drawing (H1) as shown in Fig. 2. Record the load within 5 seconds of reaching the specified compression. Similarly deflect the further 12 samples to 14 mm height or to the deflection specified on the Engi

Release the load at end of exposure and after 30 +/- 5 minutes conditioning at 23 +/- 2 C. re-compress to (H1) and measure the load (P2) within 5 seconds. 3) Calculate Residual

H1 = Height of test specimen under the specified constant deflection.
27、H2 = Height of test specimen 30 min after removal of load. 3.11.3 Adhesion of EPDM Foam to Windlace The bond strength must exceed the cohesive strength of the foam when attempts are made to separate the foam from the windlace by hand after the following conditions: As delivered. After 24 h at 70 C +

After removal from the oven or water bath, condition for 1 hour +/- 10 minutes at 23 +/- 2 C prior to attempting to separate the components. 3.11.4 Performance Requirements The part shall conform to the performance requirements of WSD-
29、M9P8-A. The windlace shall conform to the interior parts requirements. The foam weatherstrip shall conform to the exterior parts requirements except Clause 3.9.1.1 irradiation shall be 200 kJ/m2except as shown on the Engineering Drawing. Clauses 3.9.1.2 and 3.9.1.3 not required. ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONWSD-M96D21-A3/A4Printed copies are uncontrolled Copyright 2007, Ford Global Technologies, LLC Page 6 of 6
