2、ORMANCE, POWDER COATED FUEL TANK WSK-M2P138-A STRAPS NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE This specification defines the performance requirements for powder coated fuel tank straps. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally to be specify excellent corrosion resistance for fuel tank
3、 straps. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESS Suppliers must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality System Standard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as described therein is required for material/source approval. Appropriate statistical tools must be used to analyze process/product d
4、ata so that variation in the final product is continuously reduced. 3.2 CONDITIONING All parts shall be aged for 72 h at 23 +/- 2 C or 16 h at 43 +/- 2 C before testing for resistance properties unless otherwise specified. 3.3 SYSTEM COMPONENTS The requirements of this specification may be obtained
5、from the following systems. a) Zinc Phosphate, Electrocoat Primer followed by Powder coating. b) Zinc Phosphate followed by Powder Coating. All requirements are for actual finished parts. 3.3.1 Substrate Mill edge steel strips as specified on the Engineering Drawing. 3.3.2 Cleaning The surface to be
6、 coated must be free from oil or alkaline residues, fingerprints, rust, dirt, moisture, and other foreign materials. 7、WSK-M3P1-C for cold rolled steel, pre-coated, electroplated zinc or zinc alloy coated steel. Light weight amorphous iron phosphate is not permitted. 3.3.2.2 Cathodic Electrocoat Ford Engineering approved materials. 3.3.2.3 Powder Coat Ford Engineering approved materials. Coating must be sufficient t
8、o meet all performance requirements of this specification. 3.4 FILM PROPERTIES 3.4.1 Colour (FLTM BI 109-01) Black or as specified on the Engineering Drawing or Colour Release Supplements. Shall match the Master Appearance Sample colour panel. 3.4.2 Gloss (FLTM BI 110-01) As specified on the Enginee
9、ring Drawing or Colour Release Supplements. Shall match the Master Appearance Sample colour panel. 3.4.2 Initial Hardness The finish shall be sufficiently cured at the time of packing to withstand normal handling and shipping without damage. 3.4.3 Final Hardness 3.4.3.1 Tukon, min 2,75 KHN (FLTM BI

11、ectrocoat No requirement Film thickness must be sufficient to meet all the performance requirements of this specification. 3.4.5 Ageing All parts shall be aged as in item 3.2 before testing for resistance properties. The coating shall be sufficiently flexible that parts supplied for production use s
12、hall meet the requirements of this specification. 3.5 RESISTANCE PROPERTIES 3.5.1 Paint Adhesion Grade 0 (FLTM BI 106-01, Method B) No chipping 3.5.2 Water Resistance, min 240 h (FLTM BI 104-01) No softening, rust, dulling, colour change and/or loss of adhesion. Adhesion shall be tested according to
13、 item 3.5.1 3.5.3 Salt Spray Resistance, min 480 h (FLTM BI 103-01) All parts shall be scribed prior to testing. No rust spots, blistering, chipping, peeling, rust creepage or adhesion loss more than 3 mm from scribe lines and sharp edges. Re-evaluate 72 h after salt spray exposure completion. 3.5.4

17、quirements for material and/or manufactured parts shall be specified on the Engineering drawing, Engineering parts specification and/or performance specifications. All critical areas with respect to these properties shall be clearly designated on the Engineering drawing. 3.7 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY
18、 All materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any change in the properties, composition, construction, color, processing or labeling of the material originally approved under this sp
19、ecification, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology and the affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changes and obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineering activity
20、. Test data, test samples and a new code identification are to be submitted with the request. Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply to the materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are defined in Engineering Material Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1, unless a di
21、fferent suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineering document for the application. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS This specification is intended to define the performance and/or properties of finished parts or systems of combined materials. An Engineering Material Approved Source listing is not applicable for this specification. Product Engineering materials referenced in this document and/or the affected engineering drawing which require prior Engineering approval, are shown in the Engineering Material Approved Source List under the specification cited.
