REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedthe
5、rein is required for material/source approval. Appropriate sta-tistical tools must be used to analyze process/product data so thatvariation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/o
6、rtherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material laboratory. All samples sha ll produce IR spectraand thermograms that corre
7、spond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITIONINGAll test values indicated herein are based on ma terial conditioned ina control led atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under thesame condition

Test data, test samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford apply tothe mat erials addressed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WSS
24、-M99P9999-A1.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Eng
25、ineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the requirements of this specifi
26、cation (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for i ntended processes and/or applications.

GENERAL INFORMATIONThe information given below is provided for assistance and clarificationand does not represent requirement(s) to this specification.5.1 Density of the Dry Film See Initial Sample(FLTM BI
28、154-02) +/- 0.02 kg/L5.2 FILM THICKNESSThe f ilm thickness required in para 3.6.3 is for test purpose onlyand may deviate from the film thickness applied in production.The nominal film thickness is 20 micrometre. The minimum thicknessshall not fall below 10 micrometre.Application of paint in a film thickness more than 20 micrometre maygive the necessity to improve the drying conditi ons. These conditionsmust be determined during a line trial.Drying conditions must also be modified in case IR-drying is used.
