SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This commercial item description (cid) covers alu
3、minum and corrosion resisting steel kitchen dippers. 2. CLASSIFICATION 2.1 Classification. The dippers shall be of the following types and sizes, as specified. Type I - Aluminum Alloy Size 1 - 32 ounce capacity (0.95 L) Size 2 - 64 ounce capacity (1.9 L) Type II - Corrosion-resisting Steel Size O -
4、16 ounce capacity (0.47 L) Size 1 - 32 ounce capacity (0.95 L) 3. SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS 3.1 Design and construction. The dimensions of the dippers shall be as listed in table I. The body of the dippers shall be formed without seams from a single piece of the specified material. The top edge of the
5、 body shall be finished with a half-round open bead, a closed bead, or finished smooth without a bead at the manufacturers option. 3.1.1 Type I - Aluminum alloy. Type I dippers shall be constructed from 3000 series aluminum alloy. The type I dippers shall have a one piece tubular handle with a minim
6、um wall thickness of 0.060 inch (1.5 mm). The handle shall have a minimum diameter of 1-1/8 inches (2.9 cm). The handle shall be mounted to the body by welding at an angle of 30 to 40 degrees. There shall be no openings in the handle and both mds shall be closed and sealed. 3.1.2 Type II - Corrosion
7、-resisting steel. Type II dippers shall be constructed from 300 series (301 excluded) corrosion-resisting steel. The type II dippers shall have a handle constructed from flat stock with minimum widths of 1/2 inch (1.3 cm) for the size O dipper and 3/4 inch (1.9 cm) for the size 1 dipper. The handles
8、 shall be formed with an open end hook and shall be mounted to the body of the dipper at an angle of 30 to 40 degrees. The handles shall be attached to the body by spot welds (minimum of six for size 1 and three for size O), projection welding, or fillet welding all around the edge in contact with t

The welding shall be smooth, sound, and free from pits and flashes. All flux shall be removed. The handles shall have a minimum thic
11、kness of 0.071 inch (1.8 mm). The size 1 dipper shall have graduation markings at 8 ounce (0.24 L) intervals. 12、 (0.95 f 0.09 L) 3.2 Finish. The dippers shall be smooth on all surfaces and edges. The measures shall be free from corrosion, discoloration, or stain. 3.3 Workmanship. The dippers shall be clean and free from dirt, grease, rough or sharp edges, slivers, burrs, deep scratches, tool marks, or other d
13、efects which may affect appearance or serviceability. The dippers shall not be fractured, dented, punctured or otherwise malformed or damaged. 3.4 Standard compliance. The dipper shall comply with the requirements of NSF International Criteria C-2 or Standard No. 2. 3.5 Metric products. Products man
14、ufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within tolerances specified and all other requirements of this document are met. If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the t
15、olerances specified in the inch-pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable. 3.6 Standard commercial product. The dippers shall, as a minimum, be in accordance with the requirements of this CID and shall be the manufacturers standard com
16、mercial product. A standard comercial product is a product which has been sold 01 is currently offered for sale on the commercial market through advertisements, manufacturers catalogs, or brochures, and represents the latest production model. 4. REGULATORY REQUIREMENTS 4.1 Recovered materials. The o
17、fferor/contractor is encouraged to use recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable, in accordance with paragraph 23.403 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR). 5. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 5.1 Product conformance. The products provided shall meet the salient characteristics of this
18、 commercial item description, conform to the producers own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices and be the same product offered for sale in the commercial market. The contractor shall submit to the contracting officer or authorized representative, prior to awarding of contract, satisfactory evidence that the items offered meet the requirements of NSF International Criteria
20、 C-2 or Standard No. 2. Satisfactory evidence of this compliance may be any of the following: (1) Service Equipment and Related Products, Components and Materials“, and display of the NSF International mark on the finished item; or Listing in the current edition of the “NSF International Listing Foo
21、d (2) Certification issued by NSF International under their special contract evaluation/certification program for government contracts; or (3) Certified test report from a recognized independent testing laboratory acceptable to the medical authority of the service for which the item(s) are being pro
22、cured stating that the item has been tested and conforms to NSF International Criteria C-2 or Standard No. 2. 6. PACKAGING 6.1 Preservation, packing, and marking.
