46、pices of the International Civil Aviation Organization. Previous International Conferences on Air Law were held, inter alia, at Rome (1952), The Hague (1955), Guadalajara (1961), Tokyo (1 963), The Hague (1 970), Guatemala City (1 97 i), Montreal (1 97 i), Rome (1 973), Montreal (1975) and Montreal

47、(1978). The Conference was convened for the purpose of considering, with a view to approval, the text of a DraJ Protocol to amend the Convention for the Suppression of Unlawful Acts against the Safety of Civil Aviation signed at Montreal on 23 September 1971, prepared in accordance with the decision

48、 of the 26th Session of the Legal Committee. HISTORY The 26th Session of the ICAO Assembly, held in Montreal from 23 September to 10 October 1986, adopted unanimously Resolution A26-4, calling upon the Council “to convene as early as possible in the first half of 1987 a meeting of the Legal Committee to prepare a draft instrument for the suppression of unlawful acts of violence at airports serving international civil aviation with a view to adoption of the instrument at a diplomatic conference as soon as practicable, preferably before the end of the 1987 calendar year, in accordanc
