It does not include requirements for weld-fabricated fittings. The purpose of this Standard Practice is to provide indus
15、try with a standard for factory-made, weld-fabricated, copper pressure fittings in nominal sizes 1/4 through 12. This Standard Practice follows ASME B16.22, modified as required. SCOPE This Standard Practice covers factory-made, weld-fabricated, copper pressure fittings in nominal sizes 1/4 through 12. Included in this Standard Practice are: a) Pressure-temperature rat

PRESSURE-TEMPERATURE RATINGS 2.1 Rating of Fitting The rated internal working pr
20、essure-temperature rating for a solder-joint fitting is dependent upon not only fitting and tube strength, but also composition of the solder or braze alloy used for the joint. Pressure-temperature ratings for solder joints, to the dimensions of Table 3 and made with typical commercial solders or br
21、aze alloys, are specified in Annex A. The system rated internal working pressure shall be the lower of the values shown in Table 1 and Annex A. 2.2 Bursting Strength Fittings fabricated to this Standard Practice shall have an ambient temperature bursting strength of at least four times the 100 F rat
22、ed internal working pressure, as detailed in Table 1. 3. FITTING END DESIGNATIONS The following symbols are used to designate the type of fitting end: Symbol Definition C = Solder-joint fittings end made to receive copper tube diameter (female) FTG = Solder-joint fitting end made to copper tube diam
23、eter (male) 4. SIZE The size of the fittings detailed in Table 3 corresponds to standard water tube sizes, as designated in ASTM B88. Fittings are designated by the size of the openings in the sequence illustrated in Figure 1. 5. MARKING Each fitting shall be permanently marked with the manufacturer
24、s name or trademark in accordance with MSS SP-25. Marking may be omitted from any fitting where it may damage soldering surfaces. 6. MATERIAL a) The standard material is UNS No. C12200. b) The use of a material other than copper UNS No. C12200 is the responsibility of the user. c) Component parts sh
25、all be joined by weld materials meeting the requirements of AWS A5.7/A5.7M. 7. LAYING LENGTHS Consult the manufacturer for dimensions. 26、in Table 2, shall be allowed on center-to-shoulder, and center-to-center on all fittings having female solder (solder-cup) ends, and on center-to-solder ends and dimensions on all fittings having male solder (fitting) ends. Coupling inspection limits for shoulder-to-shoulder and shoulder-to-end dime
27、nsions shall be double than those indicated in Table 2. The largest opening in the fitting governs the tolerance to be applied to all openings. 8.2 Ovality Maximum ovality shall not exceed 1% of the maximum diameters specified in Table 3. The average of the maximum and minimum diameters must be with

TEST These fittings shall be tested at a gage air pressure of 60 psi minimum while under water or at a hydrostatic gage pressure of 250 psi, for a sufficient length of time, to assure tightness. 11. GAGING 11.1 Standard Gaging Method for Solder- Joint Ends The standard method of g
33、aging the diameter tolerances for male and female ends shall be by the use of plain plug and ring gages designed to hold the product within the limits established in Table 3. 11.2 Optional Gaging Method for Solder- Joint Ends For gaging the diameter tolerances for male and female ends, the manufactu
34、rer may use direct reading instruments instead of ring and plug gages as specified in Section 11.1.
