Change Notice: Updated to new MPAPS format; editorial changes. 1.0 SCOPE This method covers a test procedure for determining the compatibility of stopleak compounds with engine cooling systems and their dispersibility in water and antifreeze. 2.0 APPARA
5、TUS 2.1 2000 milliliter Pyrex beakers, or equivalent 2.2 Hot plate or laboratory burner 2.3 U.S. Standard sieves, 3 inch diameter, size No. 16 and No. 30 2.4 Thermometer, 0 - 220 Fahrenheit 2.5 Glass stirring rod 3.0 MATERIAL 3.1 Distilled water 3.2 Antifreeze mixture consisting of equal parts disti
6、lled water and MPAPS B-1, Coolant Concentrate, Ethylene Glycol Base. 4.0 PROCEDURE 4.1 Place one pellet or one container of combination liquid and solid compound into each of two 2000 milliliter beakers, one containing 1500 milliliters of distilled water and one containing 1500 milliliters of antifr
7、eeze mixture, maintained at 180F + 5. 4.2 Maintain a temperature of 180F + 5 without external agitation for a period of 1/2 hour. 4.3 At the end of this time period, stir the liquid and pour the contents of the beaker through U.S. Standard No. 16 and No. 30 sieves stacked with No. 16 on top. 4.4 Rin
8、se any remaining solid matter from the beaker with one liter of distilled water passing the washing carefully through the stacked screens. 5.0 REPORT The solid matter, percent by weight, retained on the No. 16 sieve and the No. 30 sieve.
