4、r to use. 1.0 APPLICATION This specification covers two types of formed or molded rubber hose connectors for use in the engine clean air supply system. Type 1 connectors are used in standard applications. Type 2 connectors are used where higher temperature resistance is necessary. 2.0 SCOPE This spe
5、cification covers general requirements, identification, inspection, property and performance requirements, quality plan, and source approval and quality control requirements. 2.1 Restricted Chemical Substances Effective January 1, 2007, all product supplied to the requirements of this specification
6、must comply with the requirements of the MPAPS B-50 specification. 3.0 REFERENCE DOCUMENTS Unless otherwise specified the latest issue of all referenced standards shall apply. 11、gns. The material shall meet TSR70-10a (TSR-0006) per MPAPS L-6039. Type 2: Engine clean air (vacuum) supply connections on all vehicles. The material shall meet TSR-H70-10a (TSR-0012) per MPAPS L-6039 4.1 Property And Performance Requirements All test samples shall be taken from finish formed or mo
12、lded parts unless otherwise specified. 4.1.1 Tear Resistance after Heat Age Perform tear resistance and heat age per MPAPS L-6039 additionally. Material shall retain 60% minimum tear resistance. 4.1.2 Vacuum Collapse Method: Measure the outside dimensions of the part at one or more points and mark t
13、he measured points. Install the part onto a test fixture, simulating the installed condition. Both ends of the test part shall be held rigidly with the end-plugs inserted to their design depth. Place the fixture and test part into a forced convection oven and heat soak at 82C (180F) for a minimum of
14、 2 hours. Apply a vacuum of 10 kPa (40 inches of water) to the test part for 5 minutes. Measure the outside dimensions at the indicated test points while under vacuum. Required: 20% maximum collapse NOTE: The vacuum collapse requirement must be met for each part number and shall be requalified for a
15、ny design change which affects the part number. 4.1.3 Splice Strength - ASTM D 412, Die C Method: Tensile test samples shall be taken perpendicular to the splice with the splice contained within the reduced gage length of the test bar. Required: 80% (min.) of the original tensile strength. NOTE: The
16、 splicing of parts together is not a desired manufacturing method; however, it is recognized that it may not always be possible or practical to avoid this practice. 4.2 Dimensional Tolerances Key Control Characteristics shall be measured using finished parts per Table 2. All other dimensions shall b
17、e measured using the tooling per Table 1. All modified or spliced lengths shall have a tolerance of 3 mm 0.125 in. Note: These tolerances take precedence over standard blueprint tolerances unless it is a tolerance noted directly on the design drawing and/or the blueprint/drawing is developed utilizi
18、ng Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD refer to ASME/ANSI Y 14.5M-1994*). When GD no micro-inch finish is specified. 5.1 Qualification Materials submitted for approval to this specification shall include the following: 5.1.1 Report: A detailed and signed test report documenting testing to thi
19、s specification prepared as per MPAPS P-9543. The report will include actual test data not merely test summaries. 5.1.2 Failure Modes: Test samples or photographs showing failure modes for each destructive test as necessary to fully describe those failure modes. Descriptions are adequate if the mode
20、 is easily understandable (no trade names or internal names to be used) and not unexpected. Unexpected failure modes shall be described or pictured as completely as possible. 5.1.3 Test Procedure: The procedure used for preparing, curing and assembling materials for test. Include any chemicals or as
21、sembly aids and how they were used. A complete description of the procedures, including engineering prints and pictures of any non-standard test fixtures used. 24、ing new materials to this specification. Formal approval is not granted until this report has been published and the new material is listed in this specification. However, the approval report may be used as authorization for usage of that approved material/process prior to a change to this specifica
25、tion. 5.4 Quality Control Plan A Quality Control Plan for this product will be established by mutual agreement between International and the supplier. Unless specific exception is noted, the following characteristics, where applicable*, shall be included in the plan as features for management by sta

27、s difficult to measure on rubber products, however, it is the most important dimension with regard to function and performance. (2) Hose length shall be selected by the designer and indicated on the drawing. 6.0 SOURCE APPROVAL AND QUALITY CONTROL 6.1 Supplier Requirements All suppliers to NAVISTAR
28、are subject to the requirements defined in ISQ-001-QM- NAVISTAR Integrated Supplier Quality Requirements. Suppliers must be compliant with ISO 9001 or TS 16949 and fulfill all AIAG PPAP (Production Part Approval Process) documentation and all approval requirements as indicated in NAVISTAR ISQ-001-QM
29、. 6.2 Approval Parts supplied against contracts or purchase orders citing this specification shall be equivalent in all respects to those samples which were approved by the purchaser. No changes in formulation or processing practices are permitted without approval. In the event that changes in mater
30、ial, properties, processing practices, construction, color, or labeling of the product are required, the supplier shall notify NAVISTAR Integrated Supplier Quality (ISQ) of the proposed change(s) by contacting their Navistar Supplier Quality representative or sending an email to ISQ. Test data indic
31、ating conformance to all requirements of this specification, test samples, and new or amended or updated SDS Safety Data Sheet(s) (formerly MSDS) in accordance with CFR Title 29, Part 1910, shall be submitted with the request for change. 33、erform and report results of tests on specific lots of parts produced using ISO 9001 or TS-16949 guidelines, or provide statistical evidence of the lot having been produced in a state of statistical control and with a process capable of providing all required properties. The part supplier and the pl
34、ant metallurgist and/or the quality control manager of the using International plant may determine testing and reporting requirements on specific products. 7.0 SHIPPING, PACKING AND IDENTIFICATION Shipping and identification shall be in accordance with NAVISTAR Supplier Packing and Shipping Standard
35、 D-13. Parts shall be packaged so as to avoid any damage in shipment detrimental to the appearance of the part. 7.1 Identification All connectors shall be permanently labeled or engraved in clearly legible block capital letters not less than 3mm (1/8 inch) high with the following minimum information
36、 in the order listed: (a) Vendor code - A four-or-five-digit code assigned by Navistar Purchasing to each vendor. (b) Hose Type - MPAPS F-6033, Type 1, or MPAPS F- 6033, Type 2. (c) Navistar Part Number - Each connector shall be identified with the Navistar Truck part number. (d) Date or Batch Code
37、- A code identifying the date of manufacture, the specific batch of parts, and the mold cavity number, if applicable, shall be included in the identification of each part. The specific code to be used by each supplier shall be agreed upon and approval for the use of the code shall be obtained in wri
