Unless otherwise specified in the contract or order (see 6.2), a first article sample of th- accessory set is required and shall-be manufactured using the met Iods aad procedures proposed for production. Section 4 for the purpose of determining that, prior to starting production, the contractors
13、 production methods are capable of producing items that comply with the technical requirements of the ccntract (see 4.3.1) . Unless otherwise specified in the contract, requisition . or order (see 6.2) all materials and purchased parts entering into the final assembly of the accessory set shall be in strict accordance with the detailed requirements of the documents listed or LD 4797
15、01. 3.2.3 Finishes, coatings, construction and dimensions. Finishes, coatings, construction and dimensions for the Accessory Set shall be in accordance with the applicable documents listed on LD 479701. 3.2.4 Soldering. All connections shall be solder.ed using solder and flux as specified on the dra
16、wings. secure.before soldering. immediately after each soldering operation. Component parts of assembled units (unless otherwise specified on the applicable drawing

The contractor shall provide himself with whatever gages are necessary and adequate to insure that the material to wh
18、ich this specification applies will meet the dimensiontl requirements shown on the applicable drawings. 3.2.7 Threads. Unless otherwise specified, all threads shall be in accordance with the National Bureau of Standards Himdbook H28. 3.2.8 Requests for deviation. Requests for dev:,ation from this sp
19、ecification, applicable drawings, specifications, publications, materials or processes specified herein shall be as set fort11 in MIL-STD-481. 3.2.9 Conflicting requirements. Conflicting requirements arising between this specification or any specifications, ?ublications or drawings listed herein sha
20、ll be referred in writing to the pocuring agency or appointed agent for interpretation and clarification. 3.3 Performance requirements and product characteristics. The Accessory Set shall meet the following performance requirements and product character- istics : 3.3.1 Electrical continuity. The cab

The d-c resistances of Load resistors and meten multiplier resistors in each of the cable assemblies and test dapters shall-be within the specified tolerance when tested in accord
23、ance with 4.6.2. 3.3.3 Insulation resistance The cable assemblies and test adapters shall exhibit insulation resistance between each circuit and all other circuits and to ground (defined as unused contacts Emd shells of connectors, center post of battery plugs and metal junction box shells all jumpe
24、red together as a compon ground). The insulation resisi-ance shall be equal to or greater than 500 megohms when measured as specified in 4.6.3 at a test potential of 500 i 50 volts d. c. shall be conducted after the item to be tested has 5een conditione6 for a period of at least twenty-four hours at
25、 a temperatwe of 25 i l0C (77 i 2c;F), at a relative humidity of 75 tl 5 percent. either with the unit stili in the conditioning chaniher or within one-half hour after removal therefrom. Prior to and after final assembl!; and packaging a1 com- ponents of the accessory set shall be thoroughly c:.eaned of loose, spatt
27、ered, or excess solder, metal chips and filings, or Othe? such foreign matter. Burns and sharp edges as well as rosin flash shall be removed. All com- ponents shall be free of moisture, corrosion, dirt and dust at time of packaging. 3.5 Workmanship. The equipment, including all $arts and accessories
28、, shall be constructed and finished in a manner to zssure compliance with .11 requirements of this specification. neatness and thoroughness of soldering, plating, crimping, marking of parts and assemblies, and freedom of parts from burrs ard sharp edges. of workmariship exhibited in any approved fir
29、st ar: icle sample, sutject to any qualification stated in the Governments notice of approval, shall determine the requirements of the contract relative to workrianship insofar as not speci- fically covered by applicable specifications. 33、tion shall be classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.3.1) b. Quality conformance inspection (see 4.3.2) 4.3 4.3.1 First article inspection. A first article sample of me Accessory Set manufactured in accordance with 3.2.1 shall be subjected to the exam- . inations and tests specifi
34、ed in 4.5 and 4.6 at an activity designated by the procuring agency (see 6.2). Acceptance of the sample shall be based on no defects, to approval of the sample, shall be at the suppliers risk. in spe ct ion S. 35、 inspection. Each accessory set shall be sub- jected to the examinations of 4.5 and the tests of 9.6. sucessfully phssing this inspection shall be accepted. Only accessory sets 4.3.3 Test conditions. Unless otherwise specifled, the accessory sets shall be subjected to quality conformance and firs?.
36、article inspections under the following conditions : a. Temperature: Room dient 14 to 29OC (55 to 85OF) b. Humidity: 35 to 70 percent, relative. 4.4 Special test equipment. The following item: of test equipment are required to perform the tests of 4.6: 4.4.1 Ohmmeter or bridge, direct current, 0.05
37、to 1.00 ohm range; k 5 percent ccuracy . 4.4.2 Wheatstone Bridge, direct current, 1.0 ohm to 2 megohm range, f 0.1 percent accuracy. 4.4.3 Megohmmeter, 500 ,t 50 volts d-c test potential, capable of measuring 500 megohms or more, k 5.0 percent accuracy. 4.4.4 Necessary wires, plugs, etc. for testiig
38、 purposes. 4.5 . Examinations. Each accessory set shall be examined in accordance with 4.5.1 and 4.5,2. 4.5.1 Solder examination. Each accessory set sh

The presence of any visible moisture, corrosion or other contamination, metal chips, loose solder, burrs or sharp edges shall cause the test set to be regarded as defective. 4.6 Tests.
