9、ion .) 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Preproduction sample. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or order (see 6.2), a preproduction sample of at least 15 rocket motors shall be manufactured using the materials and procedures proposed for production. The preproduction sample shall be inspected as specifi

10、ed in section 4 for the purpose of determining that, prior to starting production, the suppliers methods are capable of providing rocket motors that conform to the technical requiwnents specified herein . After satisfactorily passing all preproduction inspections, no changes in materials or procedur

11、es shall be made without prior written approval of the procuring activity* 3.2 Data. No data is required by this specification, or by applicable documents referenCe”CTin section 2, unless specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). 3.3 Description. The rocket motor shall be in accordance with Draw

13、with Drawing 21771 55. 3.5 Reproduction environmental testing. The rocket motor shall perform as specified herein after being subjected to the environmental tests of 4.7.2.2. 3.6 Workmanship, The rocket motors shall be uniform in quality and free of defects that could adversely affect use, 4. QUALIT

14、Y ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein, Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or an

15、y commercial iaboratory acceptable to the Government The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed necessary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.2 Inspection lot. An inspection lo

16、t of motors shall consist of all motors produced under homogenous manufacturing conditions and presented for acceptance at one time. 4.3 Classification of inspections . Inspections shall be classified as follows: (a) Reproduction inspection (see 4.5) (b) Production quality conformance inspection (se

17、e 4.6) (c) Preparation for delivery inspection (see 4.8). 4.4 Sampling. 4.4.1 General inspection. Unless otherwise specified herein, sampling for determination of acceptance 6f rocket motors shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105, inspection level II, double sampling plans for normal inspection 4.4

18、2 Sampling for lot acceptance based on performance. Sampling for lot acceptance based on performance shall be in accordance with table 1. Table I. 20、production inspection. A minimum of 15 preproduction motors, manufactured in accordance with 3.1, shall be submitted to an activity designated by the procuring activity for inspection to determine conformance to the requirements of this specification. Inspection shallbe within 90 days after submissi

21、on of the sample and be performed with equipment and procedures specified by the procuring activity. Inspection shall consist of all the examinations and tests of 4.7 and 4.8. 4.6 Production quality conformance inspection . 4.6.1 Examination. Each motor shall be examined as specified in 4.7.1 and 4.

22、8,l . 4.6.2 - Tests. The quality confotmance motors selected in accordance with 4.4 shall be tested as specified in 4.7.2.1 and 4.7.2.3. 4.7 Inspection procedure. 4.7.1 Examination. Visually examine each motor for conformance to 3.6. Presence of one or more defects shall be cause for rejection. 4.7.

23、2 Tests. - 4.7.2.1 General acceptance inspection. The rocket motors shall be inspected for conformance to the requirements of 3.3 of 4.4.1 and the Acceptable Quality Levels (AQL) of table n. The soak time at each temperature shall be a minimum of 48 hours. Temperature tolerances for environmental tests and static firings shall be 150 Fahrenh

31、50 *Simple harmonic motion ) A linear vibration with high frequency shock transients superimposed shall be applied in the transverse direction of both control surface planes at the tail of the round. The linear vibration shall be swept fmm 20 to 600 cps and shall produce a 300-pound peak force over

32、the entire frequency range The high frequency shock transients shall have a repetition rate of not less than 100 cps and.shaII produce 30 g peak transients simultaneously along the longitudinal axis of the round as well as in the control surface planes, (c) A torsional vibration shall be applied abo

33、ut the longitudinal axis at the after end of the round in an exponential frequency sweep from 20 to 300 cps capable of producing a 3,000 inch-pound torque over the entire frequency range . 4.7.2.2.3 - Shock. The mund shall be subjected to the following shock tests: (a) Longitudinal shock rising to 4

34、0 g in 0,010 2 0.003 second with a minimum (b) Torsional shock of 1600 radians/second . 2 dwell time o 0.020 second 4.7.2.2.4 Acceleration. The rocket motor shall be subjected to the following acceleration tests: (a) Longitudinal acceleration of 40 g held for u minimum of 4 seconds ) Lateral acceler

35、ation of 30 g held for a minimum of 4 seconds. 4.7.23 Performance. Rocket motors, selected in accordance with 4.4, shall be staticatly fired with equipment and procedures approved by the procuring activity. The preproduction rocket motors shall be fired at the temperatures specified in table IIT. Jh

36、e first quality conformance rocket motor shall be statically fired at a+temperature of 10 PF and each succeeding motor shall be alternately fired at 120“- 5OF and 10 2 5F. Rocket motors shall be conditioned to the static firing temperature for a minimum of 48 hours. The motors shall be fired within

37、1 hour after removal from conditioning. If a motor is nut fired within 1 hour, the motor shall be returned to conditioning until equilibrium temperature is reached. Four records, two thrust and two pressure, shall be obtained for each firing. Two complete channels of instrumentation shall be used fo

Failure of

39、a lot acceptance firing to meet ballistic requirements due to propellant shall be cause for refection of all grains manufactured from the same batch of propellant, The remaining motors shall be re- grouped for lot acceptance tests. Failure of a lot acceptance firing for reasons other than ballistics

40、 shall be cause for rejection of the lot, When three motors are fired, acceptance shall be based on all three motors meeting the required performance When more than three motors are fired, the sampling plans and acceptance provisions of table I shall be applied for determining whether the requiremen

41、ts of this specification are met . 4.8 Preparation for delivery inspection, 4.8.1 Examination, Each rocket motor shall be examined for conformance to section 5, Presence of one or more defects shall be cause for rejection, 5. PREPARATION FOR DELIVERY 5.1 Packaging and packing. Unless otherwise speci

42、fied by the procuring activity (see 6.2), packaging and packing shall be in accordance with MIL-P-116, method m. 5.2 Marking. Each rocket motor container shall be marked in accordance with 49 CFR 71-90 and MIL-STD-129. Marking shall include, but not be limited torthe following information: (a) Title

43、 (with applicable mod number), number, and revision letter of this spec if i ca tion (b) Suppliers name and location (e) Lot number, batch number, and date of manufacture (d) Net weight and rocket motor serial number (e Storage limitations. 6. NOTES 6.1 Intended use. The rocke. motor covered by this

46、) Place of delivery. 6.3 Preproduction sample. A preproduction sample is required from each supplier who has not produced the Mk 30 Mod 1 or Mod 2 rocket motors. If rocket motor production has been interrupted for more than 6 months or changes are requested in production methods, a preproduction sam

47、ple may be required. 6.4 Preproduction test activity. The contracting officer should specify the name and location of the activity responsible for preproduction testing . Motor delivery schedules, location and source of test equipment, and test procedures should be specified. 6.5 Ballistic test data

48、 The contracting officer should specify that computations and data for ballistic evaluation be reported on NAVWEP Form 8821, that data be traceable to rocket motor, and that static firing traces be reproduced and submitted as required. 6.6 Round. The term “round“ means an assembled missile-booster

49、combination. An inert loaae-d6cmster or simulated weights for missile components other than the rocket motor may be used during testing. 6.7 Explosives safety precautions . 6.7.1 Appicablity. The ioadng, assembly, and handling of the explosives, sub- assemblies, und the f;nished items covered by this specification involve hazardous operations and therefore require suitable explosivessafety precautions.
