SCOPE 1.1 Scope - This specification covers high-pressure oxygen check valves. 1.2 Classification - The high-pressure oxygen check valves shall be of the following types, and of the following styles, as specified (see 6.2): Type I - wit

REQUIREMENTS 3.1 Qualification - The valves furnished under this specification shall be a product which has been tested, and passed the qualific

15、ation tests specified herein, and has been listed on or approved for listing on the applicable qualified products list. 3.2 First article - The valves furnished under this specification shall be a product which has been inspected and passed the first article inspection specified herein. 3.3 Material

16、s - Materials shall conform to applicable specifications and shall be as specified herein and on applicable drawings. Materials which are not covered by specifications, or which are not specifically described herein, shall be of the best quality, of the lightest practicable weight and suitable for t

17、he purpose intended. 3.3.1 Metal parts - All metal parts shall be of a corrosion-resistant material or treated in a manner to render them adequately resistant to corrosion. 3.3.1.1 Dissimilar metals - Unless suitably protected against electrolytic corrosion, dissimilar metals shall not be used in in

18、timate contact with each other. Dissimilar metals are defined in MS33586. 3.3.2 Nonmetallic materials - Any nonmetallic material that is adversely affected by continued use with oxygen shall not be used. 3.3.2.1 Age - Elastomer components, except silicone, shall not be more than 12 months old from t

19、he cure date of manufacture to the date of delivery to any Govern- ment Service or to any airframe or accessory manufacturer. 3.3.2.2 Elastomer components - The elastomer components shall be com- posed of an ozone resistant composition, which shall not bloom, and shall meet the specified ozone-resis

20、tance performance requirements. 3.3.3 Protective treatment - When materials are used in the construction of the valve that are subject to deterioration when exposed to environment conditions likely to occur during service usage, they shall be protected against such deterioration in a manner that wil

21、l in no way prevent compliance with the performance. 3.4 Design and construction - The design and construction of the valves shall be in accordance with the applicable AN or MS standards specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). 3.4.1 Types I and II - 3.4.1.1 Flow direction - Oxygen shall flow i

23、alves are constructed in parts, each individual external part of the valves shall have a hexagonal surface or flats to serve a8 wrench-gripping surfaces. Adjacent to every thread of external connec- tions, there shall be either a hexagonal surface or flats to serve as wrench-gripping surfaces. 3.4.1

24、.3 Threads - Thread shall conform to Handbook H28. 3.4.1.4 Antiseize tape - Antiseize tape shall be used on all male pipe thread fittings. Antiseize tape shall conform to and shall be applied as specified in MIL-T-27730. Tape shall not be used on flare tube fitting straight threads, coupling sleeves

25、, or on the outer side of tube flares. None of the tape shall be allowed to enter the inside of a fitting. 3.4.1.5 Degreasing - All internal parts of the valve shall be degreased using a vapor phase degreaser in accordance with 0-T-236 or 0-T-634. Ultra- sonics may be used in conjunction with vapor

26、phase degreasing for the cleaning of components. After completion of the cleaning and when assembled, General Electric Type H Leak Detector or equivalent Halide testing apparatus shall be used to deter- mine the absence of the cleaning compound. 3.4.l.6 Orientation - The valve shall operate as speci

27、fied herein when mounted in any position (see 4.6.4). 3.4.2 Tvpe- 3.4.2.1 Fiiter - An oxygen filter shall be installed in styles F and G to remove all foreign particles, larger than 65 microns, from the oxygen prior to passing through the check valve. Provisions shall be made for removal and re- pla

28、cement of the oxygen filter unit to facilitate cleaning. 3.4.3 TvPe II - 3.4.3.1 . Poppet assemblv - The valve shall incorporate a spring-loaded poppet or some other means to assure positive closing under all pressure and flow conditions when oriented in any position. 3.5 Performance - 3.5.1 Crackin

29、g pressure (t.me ID - The valve, when tested as speci- fied in 4.7.2, shall require a pressure of at least 5 pounds per square inch gage (psig) but not more than 15 psig to open the valve check. Reset pressure (type II) - The valve check, when tested as specified in 4.7.3, shall completely stop the

33、ioned as speci- fied in 4.7.7, shall pass the specified tests. 3.5.7 Low temperature - The valve, after being conditioned as speci- fied in 4.7.8, shall pass the specified tests. 3.5.8 not show any evidence of mechanical or material failure and shall pass the speci- fied tests. Vibration - The valve

38、onally and dimensionally interchangeable. 3.7 Weight - The:weight of each style valve shall be as specified in Table I. TABLE I. 39、30, except that the Federal stock number shall be omitted. 3.9 Worhanship - The valves shall be uniform in quality and shall be free from irregularities, defects, or foreign matter which could adversely affect safety, performance, reliability or durability. 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 Respon

40、sibility for inspection - Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsible for the performance of all inspection requirements as specified herein. Except as otherwise specified, the supplier may utilize his own facilities or any other commercial laboratory ac

41、cept- able to the Government. The Government reserves the right to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deemed neces- sary to assure supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.2 Classification of inspection - The examination and te

43、ormed on samples submitted for approval as qualified products. (b) First article inspection - First article inspection consists of examinations and tests performed on samples which are representative of the production item after award of a contract to determine that the production item meets the req

44、uirements of this spec- ification. (c) QuaHty conformance inspection - Quality conformance inspection consists of examinations and tests performed on individual products or lots to determine conformance of the products or lots with the requirements set forth in this specification, 4.3 Qualification

45、inspection - Qualification inspection shall consist of all the examinations and tests of this specification, . 4.3.1 Qualification samples - Qualification samples shall consist of four valves of each style and 6 elastomer test slabs, 6 inches by 6 inches by 0.075 inch, composed of the identical ozon

46、e-resistant composition tuid cure that was used in manufacturing the elastomer components. The qialification samples shall be forwarded to the Supply Officer, Naval Air Development Center, Johnsville, Warminis- ter, Pennsylvania 18974, Attention: _ Director, Aerospace Crew Equipment Department. The

47、samples shall be plainly identified by securely attached durable tags marked with the following information: Samples submitted by (name) (date) for qualification inspection in accordance with requirements of MIL- V-502 7D and number under authorization (reference authorizing letter and number) (see

49、mitted without license from IHS-,-,-4.4.1 MIL-V- 502 7D First article samples - 4.4.1.1 Applicable to the Naval Air Systems Command - Unless otherwise specified, as soon as practicable after the award of the contract or order, the manufacturer shall submit 4 valves. The samples shall be representative of the constrnction, workmanship, components, and materials to be used during production. When a contractor is
