The adhesive shall be a crepe natural rubber or synthetic rubber base material, 3.1.1 The manufacturer is given latitude in the selection

When tes

22、ted as specified in 4.4.3, the total nonvolatile content of the adhesive shall be not less than 12 percent (see 4.3.3). 3.3 Acetone extract of nonvolatile conponents. When tested as specified in 4.4.4, the acetone extract of the nonvolatile components shall be not more than 1.4 percent by weight of

23、the adhesive (see 4.3.3). 3.4 Ash content. When tested as specified in 4.4.5, the ash content shall be not more than 0.5 percent by weight of the total adhesive (see 4.3.3). 3.5 Viscosit The viscosity of the adhesive shall be not less than 2800 nor more than 400 cps. when tediecified in 4.4.6 (see 4

24、.3.3). 3.6 Color. The adhesive, in bulk, shall be a colorless, transparent or translucent liquid, and the drimlm of adhesive shall be colorless when tested as specified in 4.4.8 (see 4.3.3). 3.7 Discoloration of Paper. When tested as specified in 4.4.9, the adhesive shall not discolor or stain the p

25、aper (see 4.4.7 and 4.3.3). 3.8 Adhesion strenqth. When tested as specified in 4.4.10, the adhesion strength of the adhesive shall be not less than 165 grans (see 4.3.3). 3.9 Wrinkle, curl, and shrink properties. No wrinkle, curl, or shrink shall occur when the adhesive, tested as specified in 4.4.1

26、1, is applied to paper. The paper shall remain flat and smooth during and after the drying period (see 4.3.3). 3.10 Shelf storaqe life. When stored as specified in 4.4.12, the adhesive shall meet the requirements of 3.5, 3,6* 3.7, 3.8, and 3.9 except that the viscosity shall not have changed more th

27、an 10 percent Plus or minus from the originally specified viscosity (see 3.5 and 4.3.3). 3.11 Flash point. The flash point of the adhesive shall be not less than 22OC (71.6OF) when tested as specified in 4.4.13 (see 4.3.3). 3.12 Workmanship. The adhesive shall be uniform, even-spreading, and free of

28、 dirt, lumps, 4. QUALITY ASSURANCE PROVISIONS 4.1 foreigh matter, coarse particles, and all other defects which would adversely affect its usability. Responsibility for inspection. Unless otherwise specified in the contract or purchase order, the supplier is responsibile for the performance of all i

29、nspection requirements as Specified herein. Except as bthetwise specified in the contract or order, the supplier may use his own or any other facilities sui tablerfor the performance of the inspection requirements specified herein, unless disapproved by the Government. The Government reserves the ri

30、ght to perform any of the inspections set forth in the specification where such inspections are deeined necessary to assure that supplies and services conform to prescribed requirements. 4.1.1 The supplier shall submit to the contracting officer a certificate of compliance indicating that the adhesi

31、ve is conposed of crepe natural or synthetic rubber as specified in 3.1 and that the adhesive complies with the shelf storage life requirement as specified in 3.10. When certificates of compliance are submitted, the Government reserves the right to check test such items to determine the validity of

32、the certificate. 4.2 Sampling. 4.2.1 m. For the purposes of sanpling, a lot of the adhesive shall consist of a manufacturers batch. A batch is defined as the end product of all raw materials mixed, blended, or processed in a single operation. 4.2.2 Samling for inspection of filled containers. A rand

33、om sample of filled containers shall be selected- in accordance with MIL-STD-105 at inspection level I and acceptable quality level (AQL) = 2.5 percent defective to verify compliance with this specification regarding fill, closure, and marking and other requirements not involving tests. 3 L Provided

35、 ner. 4.3 Inspection. 4.3.1 Inspection of containers. Each sample filled container shall be examined for defects of construction of the container and the closure, for evidence of leakage, and for unsatisfactory markings; each filled container shall.also be gaged to determine the amount to contents.

36、Any container in the sample having one or mre defects or under required fill shall be rejected, and if the nunher of defective containers in any sample exceeds the acceptance nunher for the appropriate sampling plan of MIL-STD-105, the lot represented by the sample shall be rejected. An inspection s

37、hall be made to determine that the packaging, packing, and marking comply with the requirements of section 5. Defects shall be scored in accordance with table I. For examination of interior packaging the sample unit shall be one shipping container fully prepared for delivery selected at random just

38、prior to the closing operations. Sampling shall be in accordance with MIL-STD-105. Defects of . closure listed shall be examined for on shipping containers fully prepared for delivery. The lot size shall be the nunber of shipping containers in the end item inspection lot. The inspection level shall

39、be S-2 and the APL shall be 4.0 defects per hundred units. 4.3.2 Inspection of preparation for delivery requirements. TABLE I. The solvent composition shall be determined in accordance with 4.4.2.2.1, method 7356 of Fed. Test Method Std. No. 141,
