NOTE a) The titles of standards referred to by number in the specification are given in appendix A. b) Requirements that must be specified by the purchaser, or that must be agreed between man

、ufacturer and purchaser, are listed in appendix B. 2 Definition 2.1 For the purposes of this specification the following definition shall apply: cast or lot the product of one furnace or crucible melt, or the product of a number of furnace, or crucible melts where these are combined and mixed prior

、to casting, or the product of a continuous melting furnace where the amount of metal tapped from the furnace without any further additions of metal to the charge exceeds one-third of the furnace capacity 3 Requirements 3.1 Chemical composition The material shall comply with the chemical requirements

、he specification1)4.1 Sampling The following sampling procedure shall be applied in determining whether a lot complies with the requirements of the specification. The sample(s) so drawn shall be deemed to represent the lot: a) Sample for inspection. From the lot take at random a number of complete c

、akes (or the other shapes in the lot) such that their combined mass is at least 1% of the total mass of the lot. b) Sample for testing. Obtain the sample for test in the form of a test bar or ingot cast while pouring the lot. Obtaining such a test sample shall be a matter of agreement between the pu

、rchaser and the manufacturer or supplier, and where such a sample cannot be obtained the sample taken in accordance with (a) above shall be used as the test sample. 4.2 Compliance The lot shall be deemed to comply with the requirements of the specification if after inspection and testing the samples

、 drawn in accordance with 4.1 are found to comply with the appropriate requirements of the specification. 5 Inspection and methods of test 5.1 Inspection Inspect the samples drawn in accordance with 4.1 for compliance with the relevant requirements of 3.3, 3.4, and 3.5. NOTE If the purchaser wishes

、to inspect the material at the manufacturers works, he shall notify the manufacturer to that effect at the time of placing the order. In such cases the manufacturer shall afford the purchaser all reasonable facilities to satisfy himself that the material complies with the requirements of the specifi

、3,25 mm and not less than 2,0 mm. Cut test specimens of convenient length from the strip or wire, draw-file or other-wise smooth the edges, and anneal them in hydrogen for half an hour at 800 C. 5.2.2 Close bending After cooling, bend the test specimen AB (see figure 1) by steadily applied pressure
