21、RequirementsNote3Ifconnectors may be assembled in the field, unassembled connectors and 2 sets of all necessary tools are required.RATIONALE FOR DECISION:As a result of changes to UL 1703, the Standard for Flat-plate Photovoltaic Modules and Panels, UL hasalso expanded the scope of UL 6703. The basi
22、s for this change is explained in the rationale for the CRDUL 1703. This rationale is provided below:A need exists to be able to rate PV modules with maximum system voltages up to 1500 Vdc.The current maximum of 1000 Vdc limits the ability of industry to efficiently deliver power from PVmodules. Rai
23、sing the maximum system voltage rating limit to 1500 Vdc allows the industry to increasepower production while maintaining existing current levels, leading to more efficient use of wiring andbalance of system components such as combiner boxes, fuses, and inverters. The components used in the manufact
24、uring of PV modules and the devices used to install PV modules inthe field are suitable for system voltages of at least 1500 Vdc. This proposal expands UL 1703 to addressthe creepage and clearances needed to provide suitable isolation of live circuits at 1500 Vdc or less.Copyright 2015 Underwriters
