SCOPE 1.1 Scope. This document covers an ou

16、2.3 Order of precedence. In the event of a conflict between the text of this specification and the references cited herein, the text of this specification shall take precedence. Nothing in this specification, however, shall supersede applicable laws and regulations unless a specific exemption has be

When specified in the contract or purchase order, a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection (see 4.3, 6.2, and 6.4). 3.2 Guide sample. Samples,

18、 when furnished, are solely for guidance and information to the contractor (see 6.3). Variations from this document may appear in the sample, in which case this document shall govern. * 3.3. Materials. Materials shall be as specified herein (see 6.7). 3.3.1 Basic material. The material for the outer

19、 shell shall be fire resistant and water repellent treated, cotton sateen, conforming to MIL-(2-43122, in the following colors and classes: Glass 1 Coat - Bleached White, Class and a size 1 eyelet with stud for the male half, conforming to style 2, finish 2 of MIL-F-10884. 3.3.15 Rivets, tubular wit

20、h caps. The rivets for attaching snaps and dees shall be 9/64 inch nominal size; 5/16 inch nominal length conforming to type XII, class 3, grade B or F of FF-R-566 except that the inside of the rivet shank shall be chamfered. The caps shall conform to type II of FF-R-556. The brass rivets shall be n

21、ickel plated conforming to class 2, ,0005 inch minimum thickness of QQ-N-290. The aluminum rivets shall be used in conjunction with the aluminum or zinc snaps and dees and the brass rivets shall be used in conjunction with the brass snaps and dees. As an alternate, washers conforming to type A, grad

22、e II, class C, No. 8 of FF-W-92 may be used in lieu of the caps. 3.3.16 Buttons. The buttons to attach sleeves of liner to coat shall be type II, class D, style 4, 27-line conforming to V-B-871. The color of the buttons shall be Olive Green, shade BP, Cable No. 62016 and shall have a glossy finish.

23、3.4 Design. The coat, as shown on figure 1, is a single breasted model, with a wide corduroy cloth storm collar, which includes a throat strap secured in place by fastener tape and long shaped sleeves with wrist wells ending in wristlets. It has side patch pockets with an additional layer for reinfo

24、rcement, eyelets for passage of water with pocket flaps. There is a front protective flap closed by means of rigid snaps and dees. There are three vertical reflectorized/fluorescent cloth strips down the front of the coat, strips forming a box configuration in the back, two horizontal strips around

25、the sleeves, and a horizontal strip around the hem of the coat. The outer shell of the coat is backed by a vapor barrier lining, and a quilted batting liner is permanently attached to the outer shell lining at the neckline only. 3.5 Figures. Figures 1 and 4 are furnished solely for guidance and Shou

26、ld variation fron the written document appear in the figure, information. the written document shall govern. 3.6 Patterns. Standard patterns providing an allowance of 318 inch for safety stitch and single needle seams, and 112 inch for double needle seams will be furnished by the Government to the c

27、ontractor for cutting working patterns. 8 Licensed by Information Handling ServicesMIL-C-1 O 750 J The Government patterns, which show directional lines and markings for proper assembly, shall not be altered in any way except as authorized by footnotes to table II, and are to be used as a guide for

28、cutting contractors working patterns. The working patterns shall be identical to the Government patterns. 3.7 List of pattern parts. 31、ruction. The construction shall conform in all respects to the requirements specified in table III and herein. * 3.8.1 Stitches, seams and stitching. Stitch, seam, stitching types and stitches per inch specified in table III shall conform to FED-STD-751. Where two or more seam or stitch types are gi

32、ven for the same part of an operation, any one of them may be used. sewn so that no raw edges, run-Offs, twists, pleats, puckers, or open seams will result. All seams shall start and finish evenly. The edge and top stitching shall be uniformly gaged. Seams required to be worked out, that have a dept

33、h between the fold of 1/16 inch or more shall be considered a defect. The gage of stitching on double stitched seams shall be 1/4 to 5/16 inch, but the same gage shall be used on all double stitched seams throughout the coat with the outside row of stitching being 1/16 to 1/8 from the edge. safety s

34、titch construction shall be 3/8 f 1/16 inch. The guides and knives on the safety stitch machines shall be set to trim only the ravelled ends of the fabric. Seam allowances shall be maintained with seams The gage of stitching for 3.8.1.1 Type 301 stitching. Ends of stitching shall be backstitched or

35、overstitched 1/2 inch minimum except when caught in other stitching or turned under in a hem. Thread tension shall be maintained so that there will be no loose stitching resulting in puckering of the materials sewn. The lock shall be embedded in the materials sewn. 0 3.8.1.1.1 Repairs of type 301 st

36、itching. Repairs of type 301 stitching shall be as follows: a. When thread breaks or bobbin run-outs occur during stitching, the stitching shall be repaired by restarting the stitching a minimum of 1 inch behind the end of the stitching. - i/ b. Thread breaks, or two or more consecutive skipped or r

37、un-off stitches noted during inspection of the item (in-process or end item) shall be repaired by overstitching. The stitching shall start a minimum of 1 inch in back of the defective area and continue a minimum of 1 inch beyond the defective area on to the existing stitching. by removing the defect

Thread tension shall be maint

41、g. All repairs shall be in accordance with 3.8.1.1,la and 3.8.1.1.lb, except substitute 3/4 inch for 1 inch wherever 1 inch appears. 42、m only the ravelled end of the fabric. O * 3.8.1.4 Bartacking. Unless otherwise specified, bartacks shall be as specified in table III and as follows: O Length Width 1/2 inch - + 1/16 1/8 inch - + 1/32 Bartacks shall be free of thread breaks and loose stitching. * 3.8.1.5 Automatic stitching. Automa

43、tic stitching machines may be used to perform any of the required patterns provided the requirements of the stitch pattern, stitches per inch, size and type of thread are met, and at least three or more tying, overlapping, or backstitches are used to secure the ends of the stitching. 3.8.1.6 Thread

44、ends. All thread ends that are visible on the finished item shall be trimmed to a length of not more than 114 inch. 3.8.1.7 Buttonholes. The buttonholes shall be eyelet end, taper bar type, worked over gimp with not less than four tacking stitches at bar end (not counting crossover stitch) and shall

45、 have a finished cut length of 3/4 to 7/8 inch. The stitching shall be securely caught in the fabric and the ends shall be securely tacked. All loose thread ends shall be trimmed or fused to within 1/8 inch of the tack. 3.8.1.8 Setting of snap fasteners. A hole shall be prepunched to receive the but

46、ton and eyelet components of the snap fastener.
