When specified (see 6.2), a sample shall be subjected to first article inspection in accordance with 4.3. 3.2 Materials. Materials shall be as specified herein and as shown on Drawing TA1321
13、2E7102 and associated parts list. Materials not specified shall be selected by the contractor and shall be subject to all provisions of this specification (see 4.5.1). 3.2.1 Material deterioae venu control . The sling shall be fabricated from compatible materials, inherently corrosion resistant or t
14、reated to provide protection against the various forms of corrosion and deterioration that may be encountered in any of the applicable operating and storage environments to which the sling may be exposed (see 4.5.1). 3.2.1.1 Dissimilar metals . Dissimilar metals shall not be used in intimate contact
15、 with each other unless protected against galvanic corrosion (see 4.5.1). 3.2.1.2 Welded maten &. Welded parts shall meet the specification of the non-destructive magnetic particle test of 4.5.2.1. 3.2.2 Recy cled. recovered. or e nvironmen tab - meferable maten als. Recycled, recovered, or environm
16、entally preferable materials should be used to the maximum extent possible provided that the material meets or exceeds the operational and maintenance requirements and promotes economically advantageous life cycle costs. The components, pieces, and parts incorporated in the sling may be newly fabric
17、ated from recovered materials to the maximum extent practicable provided the slings produced meet all other requirements of this specification. Used, rebuilt or remanufactured components, pieces, and parts shall not be incorporated in the sling (see 4.5.1 and 6.3). 3.3 Design and construct ion. Unle
18、ss otherwise specified herein, the sling assemblies shall conform to the interface and envelope dimensions of Drawing TA13212E7102 and associated parts list (see 4.5.1). 3.4 Performance. The sling shall lift and hold a load of 6000 pounds (2722 kilograms (kg) (1500 pounds (680 kg) on each of 4 hooks
19、) (see 4.5.2). 3.5 Treatment and pa inth. Unless otherwise specified (see 6.2) the sling assembly, except the wire rope assemblies, shall be treated and painted with a minimum of a one coat top finish in accordance with the manufacturers standard practice for slings (see 4.5.1). 3 Provided by IHSNot

Identification and marking of the sling assemblies shall be permanent and legible and shall include as a minimum the manufacturers name, cage code and co
21、mponent serial number (see 4.5.1). 3.7 Workmandug . The sling shall be free of all burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale (see 4.5.1). 4. VERIFICATION 4.1 Component and matapect ion. The contractor is responsible for ensuring that components and materials used are manufactured, examined, and tested as s
22、pecified in referenced specifications and standards, as applicable. . 4.2 Classification of i- - . The inspection requirements specified herein are classified as follows: a. First article inspection (see 4.3). b. Conformance inspection (see 4.4). 4.3 Fi,rst article wection. 4.3.1 Examination. The fi
23、rst article sling shall be examined as specified in 4.5.1. Presence of one or more defects shall be cause for rejection. 4.3.2 m. The first article sling shall be tested as specified in 4.5.2 and 4.5.2.1. Failure of any test shall be cause for rejection. 4.4 ConformanceinsDectiora. 4.4.1 -. Sampling
24、 for examination and tests shall conform to ANSUASQC 21.4. A lot shd consist of all slings offered for acceptance at one time. The sample unit shall be one fully assembled sling. 4.4.2 -. Samples selected as specified in 4.4.1 shall be examined for defects specified in 4.5.1. Presence of one or more
25、 defects shall be cause for rejection. 4.4.3 Tests. Samples selected as specified in 4.4.1 shall be tested as specified in 4.5.2 and 4.5.2.1. The total load (6000 pounds (2722 kg) shall be lifted at least 1 foot above the floor and suspended in this position for not less than 1 minute. Any evidence of s
30、lippage of the wire rope in the mechanical splices, or bending or breaking of welds or other components shall constitute failure of this test (see 3.4). 4.5.2.1 Welbt test . The welded assembly shall conform to the non-destructive magnetic particle inspection test of SAE 26405 (see 3.2.1.2). 5. PACK
31、AGING 5.1 Packaaing For acquisition purposes, the packaging requirements shall be as specified in the contract or order (see 6.2). When actual packaging of material is to be performed by DoD personnel, these personnel need to contact the responsible packaging activity to ascertain requisite packagin
