Scope1.1 This specification establishes the requirements forcopper-beryllium alloy seamless tube in straight lengths.Copper-cobalt-b

3、eryllium alloy UNS No. C17500 and copper-nickel-beryllium alloy UNS No. C17510 will be the alloysfurnished whenever this specification is specified.1.2 UnitsThe values stated in inch-pound units are to beregarded as standard. The values given in parentheses aremathematical conversions to SI units, w

10、opperalloys, refer to Terminology B 846.4.2 Definitions of Terms Specific to This Standard:4.2.1 average diameter (for round tubes only), ntheaverage of the maximum and minimum outside diameters, ormaximum and minimum inside diameters, whichever is appli-cable, as determined at any one cross section

11、 of the tube.4.2.2 lengths, nstraight pieces of the product4.2.2.1 ends, nstraight pieces, shorter than the nominallength, left over after cutting the product into mill lengths,stock lengths, or specific lengths. They are subject to minimumlength and maximum weight requirements.4.2.2.2 specific, adj

12、straight lengths that are uniform inlength, as specified, and subject to established length toler-ances.4.2.2.3 specific with ends, adjspecific lengths, includingends.4.2.2.4 stock, nstraight lengths that are mill cut and storedin advance of orders. Ord

16、ering Information5.1 Include the following information when placing ordersfor product under this specification, as applicable:5.1.1 Quantity, number of pieces or pounds,5.1.2 Copper Alloy UNS No. designation (see 1.1),5.1.3 Temper (see section 8)5.1.4 Dimensions, including length if applicable. For

17、tubeor pipe specify either OD/ID, OD/wall, or ID/wall.5.1.5 How furnished: stock lengths with or without ends,specific lengths with or without ends,5.1.6 ASTM designation and year of issue,5.1.7 Special tests or exceptions, if any,5.1.8 Hardness tests, if required,5.1.9 Special tests such as tension

18、 test, if required,5.1.10 Special marking or packaging, if required,5.1.11 Inspection, if required (see Specification B 251),5.1.12 Certification, if required (see Specification B 251),5.1.13 Mill test report, if required (see Specification B 251).5.2 When material is purchased for agencies of the U

19、.S.government, this shall be specified in the contract or purchaseorder, and the material shall conform to the SupplementaryRequirements as defined in the current issue of SpecificationB 251.6. Materials and Manufacture6.1 Materials:6.1.1 The material of manufacture shall be UNS Alloy No.C17500 or C

20、17510, cast and worked into tubular form, and ofsuch purity and soundness as to be suitable for processing intothe products prescribed herein.6.1.2 The tube shall have heat traceable identity.6.2 Manufacture:6.2.1 The product shall be manufactured by a combinationof hot working or cold working, or b

21、oth; annealing; orprecipitation heat treatment, or both, as to produce a uniformwrought structure in the finished product, to meet the temperspecified.7. Chemical Composition7.1 The material shall conform to the chemical compositionrequirements in Table 1 for the copper alloy designated in theorderi

22、ng information.7.2 These composition limits do not preclude the presenceof other elements. By agreement between the manufacturer andpurchaser, limits may be established and analysis required forunnamed elements7.3 For alloys in which copper is listed as “Remainder,”copper is the difference between t

23、he sum of results of allelements determined and 100 %. When all elements in Table 1are determined, the sum of results shall be 99.5 % min.8. Temper8.1 Tempers, as described in Classification B 601, availableunder this specification are: TB00 (solution treated (A), TF00(precipitation hardened (AT), T

24、D04 (solution heat-treated andcold worked: hard (H), and TH04 (hard and precipitationheat-treated (HT). These products meet property requirementsin Table 2.9. Precipitation Heat Treatment9.1 When material is purchased in the TB00 (A) or theTD04 (H) tempers, the precipitation heat treatment is per-fo

25、rmed by the purchaser.9.2 Conformance to the TF00 (AT) and TH04 (HT) speci-fication limits shown in Table 2, for products supplied in theTB00 (A) or the TD04 (H) tempers, shall be determined bytesting test specimens heat-treated at a uniform temperature of850 to 900F for the times shown in Table 3.9

26、.3 End products may be heat-treated at other times andtemperatures for specific applications. These special combina-tions of properties such as increased ductility, dimensionalaccuracy, and endurance strength may be obtained by specialprecipitation-hardening heat treatments. The mechanical re-quirem

27、ents of Table 2 do not apply to such special heattreatment. Specific test requirements as needed shall be agreedupon between the manufacturer or the supplier and the pur-chaser of the end product.9.4 TF00 (AT) and TH04 (HT) tempers as standard mill-hardened products has been precipitation heat-treat

28、ed andtested by the manufacturer. An appropriate time and tempera-ture has been used to produce properties within the specifica-tion limits shown in Table 2. Table 3 does not apply. Furtherthermal treatment of these tempers is not normally required.9.5 Material may be supplied with nonstandard prope

29、rties.Table 2 values would not apply. Specific test requirements asneeded shall be agreed upon between the manufacturer orsupplier and the purchaser of these end products.10. Physical Property Requirements10.1 Electrical ConductivityProduct furnished to thisspecification shall conform to the electri

30、cal conductivity re-quirement given in Table 2 for the applicable temper, whentested in accordance with Practice E 1004 or by convertingfrom resistivity measured in accordance with Test MethodB 193.11. 33、ria shall be tensileresults, when rested in accordance with Test Methods E8.11.3 Tension TestThe tension test will be used for quali-fication of all material when specifically required by thepurchaser, as in some government requirements.12. Purchases for the U.S. Government12.1 When specified in the

34、 contract or purchase order,product purchased for agencies of the U.S. government shallconform to the special government regulations specified in theSupplemental Requirements section of Specification B 251.13. Dimensions, Mass, and Permissible Variation13.1 The standard method of specifying wall thi

35、ckness shallbe in decimal fractions of an inch.13.1.1 For the purpose of determining conformance with thedimensional requirements prescribed in this specification, anymeasured value outside the specified values for any dimensionmay be cause for rejection.13.1.2 Tolerances on a given tube may be spec
