11、. Physical Requirements5.1 At the time of delivery to the site of the work, the unitsshall conform to the requirements prescribed in Table 1.6. Dimensions and Permissible Variations6.1 The thickness of any unit shall be not less than 5 in. (127mm).6.2 Overall dimensions shall not vary by more than 6
12、3%from the specified dimensions.7. Sampling and Testing7.1 The purchaser or his authorized representative shall beaccorded proper facilities to inspect and sample the units at theplace of manufacture from the lots ready for delivery.1This specification is under the jurisdiction of ASTM Committee C15

United States17.2 Compressive strength, absorption, density, and dimen-sional tolerances shall be based on tests of concrete masonryunits of any configuration or dimensions made with the samematerials, co
16、ncrete mix design, manufacturing process, andcuring method, conducted in accordance with Test MethodsC140 and within 12 months of production of the units.7.3 Except as specified in Section 8, and unless otherwiseagreed, the expense of inspection and testing shall be borne bythe purchaser.8. Visual I
17、nspection8.1 All units shall be sound and free of cracks or otherdefects that interfere with the proper placing of the unit.9. Compliance9.1 If a sample fails to conform to the specifiedrequirements, the manufacturer shall be permitted to removeunits from the shipment. A new sample shall be selected
18、 by thepurchaser from remaining units from the shipment with asimilar configuration and dimension and tested at the expenseof the manufacturer. If the second sample meets the specifiedrequirements, the remaining portion of the shipment repre-sented by the sample meets the specified requirements. If
19、thesecond sample fails to meet the specified requirements, theremaining portion of the shipment represented by the samplefails to meet the specified requirements.NOTE 1Unless otherwise specified in the purchase order, the cost oftests is typically borne as follows: (1) if the results of the tests sh
